<p>Job Title: General Accounting Specialist</p> <p>Department: Accounting</p> <p>Reports to: General Accounting Manager</p> <p>Travel: Limited</p> <p>Location: Flexible, hybrid</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The General Accounting Specialist participates in the month-end financial close cycle for multiple ledgers, meeting strict deadlines. The role supports all GWS Tool locations by ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, bank accounts and other financial data shared with our stakeholders.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs month-end financial close for multiple ledgers and meets strict month end close and reporting deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in monthly OneStream reporting, ensures quality and timeliness.</p> </li><li> <p>Reconciles cash entries daily and supports the monthly bank reconciliation.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares journal entries as needed, including prepaid amortizations, accruals, IFRS lease entries, calculating depreciation, allowance for bad debts, payroll.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares monthly account reconciliations.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the fixed assets subledger and processes fixed assets transactions.</p> </li><li> <p>Creates, reviews and submits HST and Sales Tax returns.</p> </li><li> <p>Supports Income Tax return preparation for US and Canada</p> </li><li> <p>Works on ad-hoc projects and analyses as requested.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting.</p> </li><li> <p>3+ years' experience as accountant, preferably in manufacturing industry.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Infor Visual & OneStream beneficial.</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new technologies.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</p> </li><li> <p>Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds at a time.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, genetic information, or any other factors prohibited by law.</p>
