<p>Position Summary & Description</p> <p>The Career and Technical Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full time, grant-funded faculty position at the Instructor rank, serving as a Center Director and providing professional development support covering the West Western Region IUP territory for the 2025-26 academic year.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <p>Responsibilitieswillinclude but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide direct oversight and decision-making for all aspects of the Center, including:</p> </li><li> <p>development, implementation, monitoring, and analysis of daily operational policies</p> </li><li> <p>supervision of staff and facilities</p> </li><li> <p>long-term planning in accordance with College/University and PDE-BCTE grant guidelines, policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide feedback to the Director of Instructional Programs on curriculum development, revision, and delivery with consideration given to certification requirements, funding guidelines, and PDE Initiatives for the following programs of study:</p> </li><li> <p>Career and Technical Teacher Certification</p> </li><li> <p>Career and Technical Teacher Education, AAS</p> </li><li> <p>Career and Technical Teacher Education, BSED</p> </li><li> <p>Career and Technical Teacher Education, Post Baccalaureate</p> </li><li> <p>Career and Technical Administrative Director Certificate</p> </li><li> <p>Career and Technical Administration, MEd</p> </li><li> <p>Cooperative Education Teacher Coordinator Certification</p> </li><li> <p>On-going professional development for CTE teachers and administrators</p> </li><li> <p>As necessary, teach VOED field-based course(es); preferably those designated as Career and Technical II and/or Leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and oversee the Center budget with input from Associate Director.</p> </li><li> <p>In cooperation with the Associate Director and Director of Instructional Programs, schedule in-person and/or virtual faculty meetings and establish agendas, as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare PDE-BCTE Center proposal in accordance with RFP and funding guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the direct liaison to Pennsylvania Department of Education-Bureau of Career and Technical Education (PDE-BCTE), including the coordination of annual on-site Center grant review and subsequent corrective action, if necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the implementation of all grant objectives and activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Seek, secure, and administer other grants and contracts that will enhance and/or expand Center program activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as authorized signature for Cooperative Education and Leadership certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and conduct Center Advisory Committee meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the Center representative and advocate for CTE by participating in regional and state meetings, conferences, and professional development activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain active communication and outreach to career and technical school administrators and high school administrators offering career and technical programming.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee all aspects advising for Career and Technical Administrative Director Certificate and Career and Technical Administration, MEd.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with registration materials (as needed)</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct transcript review and securing overrides.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain current advisement sheet template.</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Education. </li><li>Must be career and technical educational leader and who has the experience, ability and authority to manage the Center. </li><li>Hold a valid secondary teaching credential in one of the following fields. (i.e. Trade and Industrial Education, Agriculture, Home Economics Education, Technology Education, Health Occupations, Business Education, Marketing Education, etc.). </li><li>Candidatesmay beassigned to provideinstructionthrough distanceeducation. </li><li>Ability totraveltoschoolsintheIUPservice region of WesternPennsylvania. </li><li>Candidates must bework eligible,communicate effectively,andperformwell duringtheinterview whichmayinclude ateachingdemonstration. </li><li>Candidates must also qualify for Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Academic faculty must have, and maintain the physical and mental abilities, communicative skills, and stamina necessary to carry out the essential functions of their positions in teaching, research, scholarship, and service. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve standing to a significant degree, walking for brief periods of time and may include driving requirements.</p> <p>Faculty must be able to:</p> <ul> <li>Teach courses assigned by the departmental chair on a schedule made of a combination of standard class-meeting times as determined to meet instructional needs and adhere to the requirements of the department's curriculum. </li><li>Teach courses for a mandated number of contact hours per week over a full semester and meet university expectations for final exams. </li><li>Present course material in a clear and organized manner using methodologies appropriate to the discipline. </li><li>Evaluate student work fairly and promptly. </li><li>Perform the physical requirements of laboratory, field work, studio work, or other activities outside typical classroom instruction if applicable. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of the discipline through continued scholarly activity and research. </li><li>Participate actively in assignments necessary to advance the service and/or outreach of the department, college, and university. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>To apply for this position:Please submit a letter of application, a current curriculum vitae, unofficial copies of transcripts, and the names and email addresses of three references via our online application system:https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/iupedu.</p> <p>Automated reference requests and a confirmation email will be generated upon submission of your application.
