<p>Receptionist (District Attorney's Office)</p> <p>Employment Type: 0 - Full-time Regular</p> <p>Pay Range: $39,681.00 - 59,521.00</p> <p>Location: Castle Rock, CO</p> <p>Overtime Exempt: N</p> <p>Elected Office / Department: DISTRICT ATTORNEY</p> <p>Performs a limited variety of telephone/visitor screening and general clerical duties to act as primary receptionist for the Office of the District Attorney.</p> <p>Generally, the hiring range is $39,681-$49,601 annually. For a more detailed overview please view the full Employee Benefit Guide.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (The following examples of essential duties are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)</p> <ul> <li>Receives and responds to all incoming calls/visitors for the Office of the District Attorney; elicits information from caller/visitor to determine whether initial inquiry comes under the jurisdiction of the District Attorney and forwards call/visitor to appropriate person/unit, or to outside agency if applicable. </li><li>Assists all units in the office with the incoming and outgoing mail. Collects money from outside entities and assists in monthly deposits for our Accounting Department. Assists in handling incoming checks for our Diversion Department. </li><li>Trains other clerical staff on the use of the phone system so that reception backup relief can be provided. </li><li>Assists other unit clerical personnel as necessary. </li><li>Greets clients, visitors, and guests; determines the purpose of each persons visit and directs or escorts him or her to the appropriate location. </li><li>Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments. </li><li>Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items. </li><li>Performs administrative and clerical support tasks. </li><li>Performs basic filing and recordkeeping. </li><li>Performs other duties. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the close to general supervision of an administrative superior. Work is assigned as a single area of responsibility and is of a highly repetitive nature.</p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None</p> <p>SCOPE OF INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: Work in the class involves nearly continuous contact with the public and includes all manner of persons utilizing the service of or working with the Office of the District Attorney; information given and received is of a routine factual nature.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduation or GED equivalent is required. </li><li>One (1) year of experience as a receptionist or related experience. </li><li>A combination of education and experience may be considered. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal communication skills. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. </li><li>Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of and the ability to efficiently operate a computer based telephone system. </li><li>General knowledge of all units' functions and personnel within the Office of the District Attorney. </li><li>Ability to handle telephone calls and walk-ins in a courteous and professional manner, with a variety of people and temperaments in stressful/high volume situations. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, fellow workers and the general public; ability to communicate effectively with same. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire, with complying insurance. Review of motor vehicle record is required at time of hire and periodically throughout employment. </li><li>This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <p>Physical Work Environment: Work is generally confined to an office environment and requires no more than normal physical ability. There is a confidentiality procedure that this office follows.</p> <p>Physical Demands: While the employee may occasionally need to stand and walk, the role is primarily sedentary with significant computer use so must be able to tolerate sitting at a desk for long periods. The employee will be required to engage in speaking and listening and involves in-person interactions with coworkers and business partners. Specific vision requirements for this role include the ability to adjust focus.</p> <p>Material and Equipment Directly Used: Computer, iPad or similar device, fax/scanner/copy machine, desk phone, smart phone, and similar equipment.</p> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Closing Date: 5/16/2025 5:59PM MST. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.</p>
