We offer 100% vertical integration capabilities such as end-to-end engineering, manufacturing, and in-house logistics.</p> <p>We're proud of our Tier 1 supplier legacy for manufacturing propulsion-agnostic, structural automotive components, and assemblies around the globe.</p> <p>To help us drive excellence, you'll get to:</p> <p>This Full-Time, Salary role is a part of our Autokiniton - Oakland team and reports to the Production Coordinator.</p> <p>Machine Maintenance and Equipment Monitoring Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Sets up dies, fixtures or assemblies in accordance with MIOSHA standards and company procedures. </li><li>Troubleshoots equipment failures and problems with appropriate personnel. </li><li>Sets press to optimum speed and feed of machine according to type of operation, specified material and finish to improve and maintain machine efficiency. </li><li>Starts machine to obtain first run work piece and verifies dimensional tolerances. </li><li>Performs routine and preventative maintenance and setup including, but not limited to, die setting/fastening, machine lubrication, tools utilized include handheld pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, die bars, etc. </li><li>Recommend adjustments to processes and equipment to produce a product that meets company standards and customer requirements. </li><li>Reports equipment failures and unusual sounds or actions while operating equipment. Fills out necessary work orders and/or PCA's (Process Change Authorizations) when needed. </li><li>Monitor press for proper operation and report any malfunctions or problems to supervisor and maintenance. </li><li>Coordinate and pre-stage all necessary items for die change. </li><li>Set up and program new jobs on initial run. Fill out proper paperwork and turn into Supervisor. </li><li>Assists engineering personnel in testing and evaluating new dies. </li><li>Evaluates data and conducts experiments to develop application of new equipment or improved techniques, procedures or practices. </li></ul> <p>Leadership Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Instructs operators or other workers in machine setup and operation. </li><li>Assists in the coordination of prioritization of activities of production personnel to meet customer, plant and management requirements. </li><li>Assists in ensuring effective utilization of manpower to minimize overtime requirements. Learns production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. </li><li>Communicates current and past quality issues to associates in department. </li><li>Follow up on instructions, quality paperwork, and other process updates to ensure consistency in department. </li><li>Coordinates Die Change process. Assigns duties and makes sure expectations are met. </li><li>Lead and maintain the team's 5S excellence and adherence. </li><li>Willing to participate in leadership development training and classes. </li><li>Participates in continuous improvement activities. Drives CI projects. </li><li>Support company initiatives such as: TS16949 & ISO 14001 compliance and TPM for the production area </li><li>Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.). </li><li>Punctual and regular attendance is required. Able and willing to work any shift assigned. </li><li>Keeps work areas clean and orderly. Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor. </li><li>Assumes lead role in absence of coordinator. </li><li>Enters Production Reports in coordinator's absence, attends close out meeting in absence of coordinator. </li></ul> <p>Required experience:</p> <p>Required Skills</p> <ul> <li>Michigan forklift truck operators permit required </li><li>Excellent safety record </li><li>Able to communicate well with others </li><li>Must be able to work with minimal supervision </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of MIOSHA standards relating to set-up procedures, lockout, operation of press room/welding equipment, forklift truck operation, personal protective equipment, and material hazards required. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <p>High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience</p> <p>Language Skills:</p> <p>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.</p> <p>Mathematical Skills:</p> <p>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.</p> <p>Reasoning Ability:</p> <p>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
