<p>In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with suppliers to meet our packaging requirements for safely shipping key automotive components such as fascia's, glass, powertrain parts, and trim panels. The ideal candidate will have expertise in packaging design, supply chain management, and problem-solving skills to address non-conformances, track issues, and work with dealers on resolving claims. This position requires an individual who is proactive, collaborative, and committed to quality and customer satisfaction.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Packaging Design & Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to design and implement packaging solutions that ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation of fascias, glass, powertrain components, and trim panels. </li><li>Non-Conformance Tracking: Monitor and track packaging non-conformances, including damage reports, and take corrective action to prevent future occurrences. </li><li>Damage Reporting: Assist dealers with claims and provide support for submitting damage photos into our online portal for documentation and resolution. </li><li>Cost Savings Initiatives: Identify opportunities for cost reduction within packaging designs and materials while maintaining quality and safety standards. Lead efforts to minimize packaging costs through process optimization, material selection, and packaging design improvements. </li><li>Sustainable Packaging: Implement and drive sustainable packaging initiatives, including the selection of recyclable and biodegradable materials, reducing waste, and aligning with the company's environmental goals. </li><li>Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve packaging processes to reduce damage, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with quality standards. </li><li>Packaging Testing: Ensure all packaging meets industry standards and passes rigorous testing for durability and performance during transit. </li><li>Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, logistics, and supply chain teams to align packaging with manufacturing timelines, transportation schedules, and customer requirements. </li><li>Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain effective relationships with packaging suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and cost optimization of packaging materials. </li><li>Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of packaging designs, non-conformance reports, damage claims, and supplier communications. Provide regular reports to management regarding packaging performance, cost savings efforts, and damage incidents. </li><li>Dealer Support: Provide technical support to dealers regarding packaging issues and assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution related to component shipping. </li></ul> <p>Key Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Packaging design and material selection </li><li>Supplier relationship management </li><li>Non-conformance tracking and damage claim resolution </li><li>Problem-solving and root cause analysis </li><li>Project management and process improvement </li><li>Cross-functional team collaboration </li><li>Excellent communication and documentation skills </li><li>Knowledge of packaging testing standards and performance criteria </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent collaboration with internal teams including supply chain, production, logistics, and quality assurance. </li><li>Regular interaction with external suppliers and dealers to resolve packaging and shipping issues. </li><li>A fast-paced and dynamic work environment that requires adaptability to changing priorities and customer demands. </li><li>Occasional travel to supplier sites or dealerships to assess packaging needs or resolve damage claims. </li><li>Emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the packaging process. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of packaging experience </li><li>Experience with packaging design and material selection for large, fragile automotive components, including fascia's, glass, powertrain parts, and trim panels. </li><li>Proven track record of working with suppliers to ensure packaging meets quality and safety requirements. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track and manage multiple tasks and projects. </li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, suppliers, and dealers. </li><li>Familiarity with packaging-related software and documentation tools </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of packaging experience in automotive. </li><li>Experience working with automotive parts such as fascia's, glass, powertrain components, and trim panels. </li><li>Certification in Packaging Design or related industry standards (e.g., ISTA, ISO). </li><li>Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes. </li><li>Familiarity with packaging regulations and industry standards in the automotive sector. </li></ul>
