We seek to hire new staff who:</p> <ul> <li>Communicate openly to build relationships and trust </li><li>Partner with team members to see the TEAM succeed </li><li>Demonstrate a growth mindset and seek ongoing opportunities for growth </li><li>Embrace and support a safe and inclusive environment </li><li>Eagerly and enthusiastically support student learning </li><li>Strive to be kind and reflective </li><li>Focus on the solution and put people first </li><li>Lead by example! </li></ul> <p>Downingtown's summer ESY program starts on Monday, 6/23/2025 and concludes on Thursday, 7/24/2025, with no school on July 3rd.</p> <p>The program runs Monday - Thursday for a total of 19 days.</p> <p>Student Hours by Location*</p> <p>Shamona Creek Elementary: 9 AM. - 12:30 PM</p> <p>Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center: 9 AM. - 12:30 PM</p> <p>Downingtown High School West: 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM</p> <ul> <li>Staff hours begin 15 minutes prior to student hours and extend 15 minutes past student hours (e.g. 8:45 AM - 12:45 PM; 7:15 AM - 11:45 AM) </li></ul> <p>Locations*</p> <p>Elementary: Shamona Creek Elementary and Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center</p> <p>Secondary: Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center and Downingtown High School West</p> <ul> <li>We ask staff to be flexible regarding work hours and building location </li></ul> <p>Pay Rate</p> <p>Paraprofessionals: $21.96 per hour plus $250 retention bonus</p> <ul> <li>Retention bonus requires attendance 15/19 days for all staff. </li></ul> <p>Job Summary: To work with teachers and other educational professionals in supporting student achievement and facilitating independence.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with children</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational skills required</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in the use of technology</p> </li><li> <p>Effective interpersonal and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>For secondary aides, if student requires transportation, must have and maintain valid state vehicle operator's license and good driving record. Must meet DASD procedures for transporting students (including motor vehicle record check; please see attached documents for more information)</p> </li><li> <p>Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Click here for more information about required clearances</p> </li><li> <p>Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Completes ESY orientation and other teacher trainings as required </li><li>Provides individual and/or small group support to implement specific academic, behavioral, and/or physical accommodations as outlined by the Individualized Education Program </li><li>Provides assistance in the development and preparation of instructional materials and adaptive strategies while utilizing technology programs and computers </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of student records and information </li><li>Supports inclusion, socialization, and independence within the school setting/and or in the community </li><li>Provides transportation for small groups of students in district vehicles to community sites as directed (not all positions have this requirement) </li><li>Collects and maintains data as required by the student plan for medical assistance logs, daily communication logs, and anecdotal records </li><li>Utilization of technology for data collection, reporting, emailing and assisting students in computer software applications as needed </li><li>Print, file, scan and record student progress reports, charts, certificates, or materials for interventions </li><li>Consults with teachers to implement goals and monitor progress </li><li>May provide direct student assistance with monitoring of medical condition, physical needs, personal care, feeding, and/or toileting </li><li>Exposure to body fluids </li><li>Provides intensive program level support, (academic, behavioral, and physical), to students in specialized classes: Autistic Support, Bridges, Life Skills, MDS, SAILS and Transition Program </li></ul> <p>ESY Job Coach (including all duties and responsibilities as listed above, and the following):</p> <ul> <li>Support students independently in community settings for community-based instruction and vocational programming </li><li>Provides intensive behavioral, academic, functional and physical support to students both in the classroom and community settings </li><li>The Job Coach implements transition services to neuro divergent students, (16-21), through community-based activities to develop independent living skills, employability skills, job skills, employment opportunities as well as other community participation experiences </li><li>Provides support, shadowing and mentoring opportunities to Level I and Level II, 1:1 paraprofessionals who assist in providing transitional vocational training to their immediate student as directed by Transition Supervisor </li><li>Aggregating and summarizing vocational data collected by both the individual coach and other paraprofessionals throughout the district to create a comprehensive data review for each marking period on individualized progress </li><li>Provides specific job coaching services on employability skills, monitors and evaluates students at volunteer and paid employment locations within the community </li><li>Establishes contact with community business leaders to develop opportunities for students to participate in job skills training, employability skills training as well as paid employment, internship, and job shadowing opportunities </li></ul> <p>EOE</p> <p>Attachment(s):</p> <ul> <li>DASD Board Policy 710.1 Motor Vehicle Record Check.pdf </li><li>NO710.1-AG Use of Vehicles by Staff 3.11.15.pdf </li></ul>
