This position is also responsible for overseeing internal remodel activities and will serve as a key contributor to major construction projects.</p> <p>Under the general direction of the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Manager will manage approximately 12 employees organized into three teams: maintenance, building and grounds, and custodial. Supervision includes, but is not limited to, setting maintenance goals and schedules, employee evaluations, recommend personnel actions and analyze departmental needs that would benefit from additional support. Encourage personal and professional growth for all employees, such as classes, seminars, etc. Motivate crew to work as a team. Monitor departmental performance in response to staff demands. Ensure completion of monthly safety training and compliance with OSHA standards.</p> <p>The Facilities Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and completion of day-to-day preventative maintenance program, work orders, and emergency repairs. This position will also be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the campus' HVAC systems, central plant systems, building control systems, utilities, laboratory systems, motor pool, grounds, access control, network infrastructure, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining yearly service contracts on critical equipment and managing those vendors to ensure they meet deliverables.</p> <p>The position is also responsible for maintaining department budgets, identifying and prioritizing spending on critical repairs, assisting in the identification and development of short term and long-term projects.</p> <p>This position will be based in Reno, NV. Travel to the Las Vegas, NV campus may be occasionally required.</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business or a related discipline from an accredited institution </li><li>Six (6) years facility maintenance experience in a school, university, laboratory, hospital, data center, manufacturing, or construction setting, with at least 4 years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. </li><li>Knowledge of common safety protocol and procedures such as LOTO, arc flash protection, fall protection, etc. </li><li>Demonstrated experience supervising skilled trades staff and contractors </li><li>Ability to influence internal/external stakeholders to build consensus without having direct supervising authority over them. </li><li>Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Demonstrated experience supervising, training, and building a collaborative team culture. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). </li><li>Knowledge of pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations as they relate to physical facilities and construction (NEC, NFPA, IBC, UPC, UMC, etc.); ability to produce, read, and interpret plans, schematics, and specifications; and knowledge of materials, techniques and procedures used in the fields of carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Greater consideration will be given to those who possess these skills and attributes:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in engineering, construction management, business or related discipline </li><li>Experience with Enterprise Resource Software (ERP) for managing employee time off, procurement, and purchasing </li><li>Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for day-to-day preventative maintenance scheduling and work order completion. </li><li>Experience of sustainable energy technologies (photovoltaic, solar hot water, lighting, etc.) </li><li>Any of the following certifications: Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or APPA Leadership program - EFP or CEFP </li></ul> <p>CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT</p> <ul> <li>Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. </li><li>Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one by date of hire is required. </li><li>Ability to perform physical tasks, such as: lifting and moving objects in excess of 50 lbs.; digging, excavating, planting, and pulling wire; climbing ladders and working at heights up to 30 ft; frequently stooping, bending, kneeling; exposure to dust, fumes, pollutants, chemicals, and construction materials. </li><li>Regular work hours for this position are 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, but hours may vary during the week. Long and irregular hours may be required on occasion. </li><li>This position is required to be on-call and to respond to after-hours emergencies. </li></ul> <p>Department Overview</p> <p>DRI's Facilities Department is responsible for providing essential facilities operation, maintenance, and construction services for 22 buildings, totaling over 364,000 square feet, spread across 47 acres of land. These campuses house over 40 specialized labs, administrative, and educational spaces. The Facilities Department operates and maintains central utility systems (backup generators, UPS, boilers, chillers, air handlers, DI water, and building automation systems) and provides in-house laboratory modification, renovation, and construction services to the site. DRI offers a benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance; including 19.25% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and the choice of three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts. Additionally, there is no state income tax and no social security deduction.
