All of our system institutions place strong emphasis on service - helping to build healthier, more educated communities in South Carolina and beyond.</p> <p>Advertised Job Summary</p> <p>The College of Pharmacy is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team.</p> <p>A Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research in the Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Carolina. The lab is interested in studying the neurodevelopmental mechanisms underlying addiction. The Postdoctoral Fellow will use a combination of state-of-the-art methodologies spanning animal behavior, in vivo surgical techniques, molecular/cellular approaches, and extracellular vesicle analysis in pre-clinical rodent models. Our goal is to understand how neurodevelopmental processes and extracellular vesicle-mediated cell communication shape the neural circuits that drive addictive behaviors, with the aim of revealing promising targets for future treatments of addiction and related disorders.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Experience in rodent models, molecular biology, and behavioral analysis. </li><li>Dedication to basic research with strong analytical and communication skills. </li><li>Highly motivated and able to work both independently and in a team. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Job Close Date</p> <p>06/27/2026</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicant</p> <p>Positions are advertised for a minimum of five (5) business days on our job website.
