We invite you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network.</p> <p>Position Description</p> <p>This position is with MidState Medical Center</p> <p>The Mobility Aide provides safe and appropriate basic patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist. As a member of the rehabilitation team, the Rehab Aide supports a safe and positive patient experience by assisting in the delivery of care and performing delegated multi-skilled basic patient care services.</p> <p>The mobility aide will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Provides safe patient mobilization and transfer assistance using approved assistive devices and procedures in the acute hospital setting as directed by a licensed physical or occupational therapist. </li><li>Monitors vital signs before and after treatment and notifies patient's nurse of any significant change in vitals. </li><li>Demonstrates use of patient transfer equipment/device use, patient mobility techniques, and body mechanics in a safe manner. </li><li>Reports the patient's nurse any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment. </li><li>Documents and communicates completion of mobility in the electronic medical record and to the nurse for each patient. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>Education to new and existing staff on safe patient handling techniques including but not limited to: </li><li>Hoyer lift, Sara Lift, Sara Stedy, Egress test, use of assistive devices etc. </li></ul> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required.</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Customer service experience and computer literacy required. </li><li>Patient care/rehab aide experience highly preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year work experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. </li><li>Certified or Non-Certified Nursing Support experience preferred (CNA, HHA, PCT) </li><li>CPR validation may be required within 3 months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement. </li><li>Must be able to physically lift and move patients in a safe manner. </li></ul> <p>We take great care of careers.</p> <p>With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
