What you do here matters, and we value every contribution.</p> <p>William Paterson University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, 10-month position of Assistant Professor of Special Education / Teacher of Students with Disabilities in the College of Education, Department of Special Education, Professional Counseling and Disability Studies. Position starts January 2026.</p> <p>The Department of Special Education, Professional Counseling and Disability Studies offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates across various disciplines. The Special Education program offers certificates and degrees for educators to enhance their careers with endorsements related to the provision of special education for students with identified disabilities. This Assistant Professor will predominantly teach undergraduate and graduate level courses leading to the endorsement for the New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSD).</p> <p>The position includes a 24-credit annual teaching load. Undergraduate TSD courses are taught in in-person, hybrid, and online formats in 15-week sessions. Graduate TSD courses are taught in an asynchronous online format in 7-week sessions. This faculty member may also teach courses in the department's Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) certificate and master's degree programs, which run in online and hybrid formats in 15-week sessions.</p> <p>Annual reappointment during the pre-tenure period, promotion, and tenure are determined by university and department standards for effectiveness and excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.</p> <p>College Overview</p> <p>Join a distinguished faculty where excellence is reflected in our mission and vision.
