<p>The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana.</p> <p>Learn more about Louisiana Department of Health</p> <p>The Louisiana Department of Health is seeking a motivated Medicaid Analyst Supervisor to lead a team of Medicaid Analysts and ensure high-quality, accurate service delivery. In this role, you will oversee workflow, maintain compliance with state and federal policies, support staff with complex cases, monitor case quality, provide in-service training, and handle reviews, investigations, and fair-hearing inquiries. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to strengthening program integrity and improving outcomes for Louisiana families.</p> <p>An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:</p> <p>Building and Supporting Teams: The ability to combine one's actions and efforts with others to work toward achieving a common goal.</p> <p>Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.</p> <p>Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to take ownership of actions, behaviors, performance, decisions, and outcomes</p> <p>Driving Results: The ability to set and pursue goals, maintain focus amid competing demands, and deliver results.</p> <p>Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to follow, reinforce, adapt, or develop policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.</p> <p>Adapting to Change: The ability to demonstrate flexibility in thoughts, behaviors, and actions in response to evolving circumstances or unexpected change.</p> <p>Building Trust: The ability to create a safe and supportive environment where others feel comfortable speaking up, sharing ideas, and acknowledging mistakes.Six years of social services experience; OR</p> <p>Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR</p> <p>A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR</p> <p>An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Supervises a unit of Medicaid Analysts with responsibility for the maintenance of acceptable standards of assistance. Ensures strict adherence to all rules and regulations by all personnel in the unit. Ensures that work production and quality meet state, regional, and national goals established by the respective administrators. </li><li>Assists Medicaid Analysts in especially sensitive or difficult applications by advising on procedural issues, policy, and decisions. Plans and coordinates in-service training for personnel in the unit. </li><li>Monitors case development through reviews as directed by agency policy, previous review findings, and quality control findings. </li><li>Interprets program policy to subordinates to ensure consistency with federal rules, regulations, and guidelines. </li><li>Monitors work flow in the unit including controlling distribution of cases and completing weekly and monthly statistical reports. </li><li>Interviews applicants and recipients concerning their rights in relation to fair hearings. Interviews complainants and investigates possible adjustments. Responds to requests in accordance with the Privacy Act and the Freedom of Information Act. </li><li>Conducts special investigations and studies.
