<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Candlewood Lake Elementary School is seeking an excellent Social Worker beginning in the 2025-2026 school year!</p> <p>Location: Candlewood Lake Elementary School</p> <p>Position Type: School Social Worker</p> <p>Important Dates:</p> <ul> <li>• New Hire Orientation: August 25 & 26, 2025 </li><li>• Current Teacher Start Date: August 27th, 2025 </li><li>• Students' First Day: September 2nd, 2025 </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities (List is not all inclusive):</p> <ul> <li>Providing direct counseling services to students individually and in groups to support emotional, behavioral, and social development. </li><li>Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to identify students in need of support and develop intervention strategies. </li><li>Participating in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans for students with special needs. </li><li>Conducting assessments and evaluations to determine students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. </li><li>Supporting students and families in crisis situations and connecting them to appropriate community resources. </li><li>Promoting a safe and inclusive school environment by implementing and supporting school-wide social-emotional learning initiatives. </li><li>Serving as a liaison between school, home, and community service agencies to coordinate care and advocacy for students. </li><li>Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements. </li><li>Participating in school-based team meetings and collaborating with multidisciplinary staff to support student success. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Connecticut certification as a School Social Worker (071) or eligibility for certification. </li><li>Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred. </li><li>Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral interventions. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, families, and community providers. </li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting the holistic development of all students. </li></ul> <p>Brookfield Public Schools is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment.
