The LCE team encompasses multiple disciplines that support engineering, program offices, and customers throughout the entire life cycle of our products, from conception to deactivation. Our focus areas include product support disciplines such as reliability, system safety, and supportability.</p> <p>This role on the LADS System Safety team involves contributing to these key areas by ensuring the safety of software components within the LADS program, thereby upholding the high standards of product safety and reliability that LCE maintains.</p> <p>What You Will Do</p> <p>As a Senior Software Safety Engineer on the Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) System Safety team, you will be responsible for the following tasks:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Analysis of engineering software, and/or firmware (IAW MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Work with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software code</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with Program Management and Government approval authorities from program startup through deployment to gain concurrence with software builds</p> </li><li> <p>Performing Software and/or Firmware analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Executing the Software System Safety Program</p> </li><li> <p>Mentoring junior engineers</p> </li><li> <p>Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval</p> </li><li> <p>Briefing software safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process</p> </li><li> <p>Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design</p> </li><li> <p>Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications You Must Have</p> <ul> <li> <p>Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced STEM degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Computer Science, Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Firmware Engineering.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications We Prefer</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with DoD System Safety Programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development.</p> </li><li> <p>Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).</p> </li><li> <p>Active Secret clearance.</p> </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <ul> <li> <p>Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
