<p>Tesla is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join the Charging Policy Team to advance the company's objectives by engaging key stakeholders on a wide array of policy platforms, including legislative, municipal, business development, and regulatory matters. This role focuses on enabling sustainable and widespread electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure access across North America. The Managing Policy Advisor, Charging will drive state legislative policy engagement to support Tesla's commercial and residential charging products while also working on policies related to scaling AC charging deployments, including emerging topics like vehicle grid integration. Responsibilities may include direct engagement on equipment standards, permitting, and operational requirements.</p> <ul> <li>Lead strategy for evaluating and engaging on proposed legislative requirements to assess potential impacts on charging infrastructure deployment, operations, and technology development </li><li>Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with policymakers, utility partners, and trade groups </li><li>Develop and lead proactive strategies to create new market opportunities for AC charging deployment, including utility, state, and local programs </li><li>Respond to the needs of Tesla leadership and internal business units by assisting in problem-solving issues related to market growth and entry as required </li><li>Degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, or equivalent experience </li><li>Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in energy markets, policy, electric utilities, charging infrastructure, or public policy, with direct experience in EV charging products preferred </li><li>Proven track record of influencing state-level policymaking processes, including stakeholder engagement, drafting comments, and providing verbal testimony, with experience in public utility commissions and utility programs preferred </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex and technical policy points effectively to diverse audiences </li><li>Results-driven and self-motivated with the ability to travel and function autonomously in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities </li></ul>
