<p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Field Service and Start-up Technician shall be responsible for the start-up, installation supervision, training, maintenance and field troubleshooting and repair of air handling systems provided by the Company in any of the three operating divisions: Johnson, Marcraft and Arizon Structures.</p> <p>FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION</p> <ul> <li>Provide installation supervision to contractors or owners relative to unit re-assembly and/or installation. </li><li>Provide or supervise unit start-up. </li><li>Provide customer or third-party service provider training relative to unit maintenance procedures </li><li>Perform routing/scheduled unit maintenance. </li><li>Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine pipe sizes, layouts, and equipment installation points. </li><li>Provide other maintenance, service or troubleshooting services as required. </li><li>Provide phone support to diagnose customers or third-party service provides diagnosis and repair of our equipment. </li><li>Coordination of travel/site-visits with Customer Service Organization to optimize travel to near-by sites. </li><li>Assist Customer Service Manager in the estimation, contract/scope development and billing of services. </li><li>Generate and file field service reports on a timely basis. </li><li>Plan and conduct trips in accordance with corporate travel policy. </li><li>Ability to travel as a primary element of the position. </li><li>Actively utilize company software & IT infrastructure to maintain project documentation and facilitate coordination with other company functions. </li><li>Other duties assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>2 Year Degree in HVAC Technology, Manufacturer Sponsored Training (e.g Trane, YORK, Carrier, McQuay) on like equipment, or equivalent experience </li><li>5-10 years' experience in Field Service and Start-up Technician role preferred, but a minimum of 2-5 years will be considered. </li><li>HVAC experience with operational knowledge of fans, coils, refrigeration, piping, sensors, and controls </li><li>Electrical knowledge and understanding of NEC requirements for installation </li><li>Working knowledge of controls operation platforms and BAS </li><li>Experience in Power Flame gas burner control and tuning. Knowledge of National Fuel Gas Code </li><li>Pipefitting experience a plus. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS & ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to travel overnight on a routine basis. </li><li>MS Office Applications: WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK </li><li>Must have valid driver's license and passport. </li><li>Ability to independently generate, read and interpret equipment test reports. </li><li>Ability to operate lifts, safety and fall protection equipment </li><li>Ability to lift, handle and operate equipment, as required. </li><li>OSHA 10 training or greater </li><li>Ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods of time and work in confined spaces. </li><li>Good oral and written communication skills </li><li>Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with company and customer engineers and service personnel. </li><li>Desire to improve/upgrade capabilities as well as learn new skills that will advance productivity and efficiency. </li><li>Ability to work independently, effectively manage time and organize activities effectively. </li></ul>
