EO/AA</p> <p>This position supervises employees and processes by coordinating and overseeing work assignments. The incumbent ensures that relevant policies, procedures and laws are implemented within the department of assignment. In addition, the individual participates in the interview process and subsequently assesses, develops and provides training for new and existing employees. This position has the authority to initiate disciplinary action when necessary.</p> <p>This position has no responsibility for providing patient care.</p> <p>Corporate Overview: The University of Utah is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is nationally ranked and recognized for our academic research, quality standards and overall patient experience. Our five hospitals and eleven clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinates the work of an area within the department in the mission, vision and values of the organization. </li><li>Drives operations in alignment of goals, policies, procedures and strategy of the department. </li><li>Schedules labor and equipment. </li><li>Trains and educates the staff in areas such as annual compliance, licensing, certification, etc. </li><li>Reports the accurate time and attendance of direct reports. </li><li>May manage the hiring, orientation and development of staff. </li><li>May conduct employee evaluations, coaching and disciplinary processes to align employee performance and behaviors. </li><li>Completes required after-hours on-call rotation. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above. </li><li>Demonstrated organizational, human relations and effective communication skills. </li><li>Ability to resolve staff and scheduling conflicts in order to meet department goals and needs. </li><li>Ability to orchestrate multiple tasks simultaneously. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience in facility maintenance, or the equivalency. </li><li>Dependent upon department assignment, a journeyman certification in at least one of the trades supervised may be required. </li><li>Depending upon department of hire, a valid, State of Utah Driver's License may be required. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications (Preferred)</p> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Applicable supervisory training and experience. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Demands</p> <p>Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.</p> <ul> <li>This position involves intermediate working conditions in a healthcare setting that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require light work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects involving patient care or medical equipment. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Carrying, Climbing, Color Determination, Crawling, Far Vision, Lifting, Listening, Manual Dexterity, Near Vision, Non Indicated, Pulling and/or Pushing, Reaching, Sitting, Speaking, Standing, Stooping and Crouching, Tasting or Smelling, Walking</p>
