<p>Summary of Functions<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Assists in preparing, cooking, and serving food to students<\/span> and<\/span> staff in<\/span> an<\/span> atmosphere of efficiency,<\/span> and cleanliness.<\/span> Will<\/span> perform<\/span> various fast-paced<\/span> and<\/span> quick-thinking functions<\/span> to<\/span> carry<\/span> out those objectives.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Food<\/span> Service<\/span><\/u> -<\/span> Prepares, produces,<\/span> heats,<\/span> cooks, bakes<\/span> and<\/span> serves<\/span> a<\/span> variety<\/span> of<\/span> foods<\/span> including<\/span> entrees,<\/span> meats, <\/span>vegetables, breads, salads,<\/span> fresh fruit,<\/span> sandwiches,<\/span> beverages or other foods<\/span> specified<\/span> by the menus,<\/span> recipes,<\/span> and <\/span>production records.<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <ul> <li>Sets up food and food service areas and serves food.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n </li><li>Operates kitchen equipment such as, but not limited to, mixers, slicers, ovens, stove tops, tilt-skillets and kettles, warmers, coolers, dishwasher, garbage disposals.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n </li><li>Utilizes kitchenware such as, but not limited to knives, spatulas, whisks, tongs, spoons, ladles, measuring devices.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n </li></ul> <p>Safety-<\/span><\/u> Prepares,<\/span> handles,<\/span> stores<\/span> and<\/span> disposes of<\/span> food<\/span> in accordance with appropriate<\/span> safety standards. <\/span>Cleaning-<\/span><\/u> Cleans<\/span> kitchen<\/span> equipment,<\/span> counters,<\/span> serving<\/span> lines,<\/span> and<\/span> helps<\/span> with<\/span> all<\/span> dishes<\/span> and<\/span> trays<\/span> when<\/span> needed. <\/span>Cleans<\/span> freezers,<\/span> coolers,<\/span> and<\/span> dry<\/span> storage<\/span> areas<\/span> daily,<\/span> weekly<\/span> and<\/span> monthly<\/span> as<\/span> needed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Cooperation<\/u> - Works and cooperates with all school personnel.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Assistance<\/span><\/u> - Helps<\/span> supervisor plan<\/span> daily<\/span> work schedule.<\/span> Ordering<\/span> and<\/span> receiving<\/span> inventory.<\/span> Monthly menus,<\/span> and <\/span>production records.<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Public<\/span> Relations<\/span><\/u>- Takes<\/span> affirmative<\/span> steps<\/span> to<\/span> develop<\/span> good<\/span> cooperative<\/span> relationships<\/span> with<\/span> vendors,<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>staff, students,<\/span> visitors,<\/span> and<\/span> others<\/span> who<\/span> utilize<\/span> or provide service to<\/span> the cafeteria facility.<\/span> Strives to create a <\/span>positive,<\/span> friendly<\/span> environment,<\/span> with<\/span> emphasis<\/span> in<\/span> making<\/span> children<\/span> feel<\/span> at<\/span> ease<\/span> and<\/span> enjoy<\/span> their<\/span> cafeteria <\/span>experience.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Acting<\/span><\/u>-<\/span> Serves<\/span> as<\/span> helpful<\/span> leader<\/span> and<\/span> must<\/span> be<\/span> able<\/span> to<\/span> produce daily<\/span> menu<\/span> items<\/span> when<\/span> the<\/span> supervisor<\/span> is<\/span> absent. <\/span>Training<\/span><\/u>-<\/span> Participates in in-service training<\/span> programs,<\/span> as<\/span> assigned.<\/span> Provides orientation and training<\/span> to new <\/span>cafeteria staff.<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Other<\/span><\/u>-<\/span> Performs<\/span> such<\/span> other functions<\/span> and<\/span> assumes<\/span> such other<\/span> responsibilities<\/span> as<\/span> the supervisor<\/span> may<\/span> from<\/span> time to <\/span>time<\/span> assign<\/span> or<\/span> delegate.<\/span> Observes<\/span> safety<\/span> and<\/span> security<\/span> procedures; reports<\/span> potentially<\/span> unsafe<\/span> conditions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Necessary Skill<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow instructions and respond to supervisor direction and take responsibility to <\/span>complete<\/span> tasks<\/span> on<\/span> own.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n </li><li>Ability to prepare, produce, cook, bake, assemble and serve a large quantity of foods.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n </li><li>Ability<\/span> to<\/span> prioritize<\/span> and<\/span> plan<\/span> work<\/span> activities<\/span> rapidly<\/span> and<\/span> efficiently<\/span> with<\/span> a<\/span> team<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n </li><li>Ability<\/span> to<\/span> work<\/span> cohesively<\/span> with<\/span> peers,<\/span> supervisors,<\/span> school<\/span> personnel<\/span> and<\/span> students<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n </li><li>Ability to exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views, give and welcome feedback,<\/span> and contribute to building a positive team.
