<p>Summary/objective:</p> <p>Technician C requires average mechanical knowledge and performs most mechanical tasks assigned to them, including the following jobs or services: brakes, rotors, fluid exchanges, oil change, transmission, differential, cooling system maintenance, repairing and replacing tires and additional services (e.g. wiper blades, air filters, etc.). Technician C communicates with customers, educating them on necessary preventive vehicle maintenance. Additional duties may include some courtesy services, tire repair and replacement services.</p> <p>You are paid an hourly rate and a commission percentage that is standard across the company.</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <ul> <li>Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with supervisory direction and factory standards. </li><li>Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection. </li><li>Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. </li><li>Partner with the Center Manager if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. </li><li>Documents all work performed and recommended. Road tests vehicles as needed. </li><li>Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notify the manager immediately of any damage that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. </li><li>Keeps the shop areas neat, clean and organized. </li><li>Maintains and is accountable for all store-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received. </li><li>Understands, and comply with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know -this includes any SOP of our company guidelines and rules. </li><li>Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management </li><li>Participates in organization-sponsored training programs. </li><li>Other tasks as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications: Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine tickets, notes and other correspondence. </li><li>Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers. </li><li>Valid Driver's License </li><li>State Emission Certification- if applicable in your state </li><li>State Vehicle Inspector Certification- if applicable in your state </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands / Work Environment and Requirements</p> <ul> <li>We require tools for this position that enable you to perform the majority of services that you are qualified to perform. You will need to have a toolbox with tools on site. </li><li>You will be required to sign a contract with our uniform policy and procedure plan. </li><li>Ability to work in cramped places, such as underneath a jacked-up automobile or a lower bay. </li><li>Upper body strength and stamina to effectively use hand tools like hammers and wrenches and to make sure that fasteners are properly secured. </li><li>Fine motor skills to be able to work with small fasteners, such as nuts, bolts, and washers. </li><li>Vision: Ability to read diagrams, manuals and emails. Often, you are required to work with color-coded wiring. </li><li>Ability to work in fluctuating and sometimes extreme weather temperatures. </li></ul>
