<p>Summary</p> <p>Reports to a Director/Executive Director (BMG/TRMG). Is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the business operations and activities of the medical group and other practice sites under the supervision of the Director/Executive Director (BMG/TRMG). The Mgr Group Practice oversees various administrative responsibilities. They maintain patient records, ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulation. This position is responsible for the financial management of the practices, including annual budgeting, monitoring expenses, managing payroll, optimizing revenue, and preparing financial reports. Mgr Group Practice handles staff management, including hiring, training, evaluating staff, resolving conflicts, and managing employee relations. Be on their team. </li></ul> <p>Plans, directs, and manages the business operation and activities of the facility in accordance with BMG/TRMG goals and objectives by:</p> <ul> <li>Establishing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems to achieve efficient clinic operation and maximum service to ensure quality patient care to patients of the facility; analyzing and recommending changes in systems, procedures, and policies to improve workflow and efficiencies. </li><li>Developing, revising, and promoting, as needed, objectives of the site(s) which are in line with overall objectives of BMG/TRMG annual goals. </li><li>Providing BMG/TRMG Administration financial and statistical information necessary to make informed decisions regarding the operation of the Group and site(s). </li><li>Participating in the development and implementation of plans and budgets; monitoring and controlling facility expenditures within budget. Collaboration will be required with other management staff of sites to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. </li><li>Monitoring fees and reimbursement for services and assisting in revising and implementing changes. Overseeing appropriate compliance of insurance and billing procedures, including correct CPT & ICD coding, coordination of managed care compliance, collection of appropriate fees and past due accounts, and verification of appropriate demographic and billing information. </li><li>Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery. </li><li>Working closely with physicians to ensure that operations and Medical Group and site(s) are managed appropriately. </li><li>Reviewing patient satisfaction surveys with physicians and staff. </li><li>Participating in management team meetings, team projects, and other meetings as directed by Director. </li></ul> <p>Performs managerial duties by:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinating activities of all staff and delegating responsibilities to appropriate personnel. </li><li>Ensuring adherence to BMG/TRMG policies and procedures by personnel under Group Practice Manager's supervision. </li><li>Maintaining overall responsibility for scheduling to provide adequate coverage for clinical staff, radiology, lab, environmental services, patient accounts and billing, and reception staff under manager's supervision. </li><li>Encouraging and following proper channels of communication to report problems or suggested changes and implementing as necessary. </li><li>Maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable and quiet environment for patients and personnel; monitoring physical property and overseeing maintenance as necessary. </li><li>Ensuring that adequate supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are provided; overseeing purchasing and payables of all equipment and supplies. </li><li>Conducting regular unit meetings to keep personnel informed of directives, policies, and procedures. </li><li>Providing for patient instruction as prescribed by physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner regarding patient education and other community resources. </li><li>Coordinating the educational programs of students from nursing, medical assistant and other programs that may relate to the Group and site(s). </li><li>Managing building systems by coordinating vendor activities for installation, maintenance, and repairs, including but not limited to, HVAC, telephone, security, cleaning, landscaping, trash, electrical, etc. </li><li>Establishing and maintaining a system of patient medical record, transcription of medical records, patient scheduling and telephone communication in the Group and site(s). </li><li>Being responsible for the selection and termination of employees under supervision of the Director. Evaluating the performance of staff being supervised and preparing and administering disciplinary actions, as needed. </li><li>Assisting in the development of the staff being supervised by orientation, professional development programs, personal instruction, etc. </li><li>Effectively communicating benefit programs, personnel policies and practices, and ensuring consistent application of established wage/salary practices. </li></ul> <p>Keeps abreast of current knowledge of the clinical process, current developments, procedures and techniques in clinical and patient care, and an awareness of governmental, economic and legal factors by:</p> <ul> <li>Attending and participating in related seminars and other professional development activities. </li><li>Maintaining membership in related professional organizations as approved and directed by Director. </li><li>Reading current professional literature and journals. </li></ul> <p>Performs other functions to maintain personal competence and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by:</p> <ul> <li>Encouraging integration of the Group and site(s) with the community through effective communication and public relation programs. </li><li>Monitoring community needs regarding health care and reporting to Director/Executive Director as appropriate. </li><li>Coordinating efforts in areas of physician recruitment and new physician orientation. </li><li>Completing other job related assignments and special projects as directed. </li></ul> <p>Leadership Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Drives Results - Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances. </li><li>Customer Focus - Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. </li><li>Instills Trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. </li><li>Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. </li><li>Communicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. </li></ul> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. </li><li>Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes. </li><li>Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. </li><li>Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year. </li><li>Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department. </li><li>Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self. </li><li>Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance. </li><li>Complies with established organization and department policies. </li><li>Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required. </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Beacon's six-point Operating System, referred to as The Beacon Way:</p> <ul> <li>Leverage innovation everywhere. </li><li>Cultivate human talent. </li><li>Embrace performance improvement. </li><li>Build greatness through accountability. </li><li>Use information to improve and advance. </li><li>Communicate clearly and continuously. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma. A Bachelor's degree in business or a healthcare field with subsequent licensure preferred. Requires a minimum of three to five years of supervisory/management experience, and five years of experience in a physician practice (healthcare) required. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge & Skills</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates expert clinical knowledge of procedures, observations, treatments, and techniques and health care administration practices utilized at the clinic. </li><li>Requires knowledge of government and reimbursement regulation requirements and organization policies, procedures and systems, including knowledge of computer systems and applications. </li><li>Demonstrates well developed managerial skills necessary to plan, organize, and manage business operations and activities of the clinic. </li><li>Demonstrates well developed leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with a variety of patients, family members, visitors, clinic staff, physicians, public, and external agencies in a professional manner. </li><li>Requires certification in Basic Life Support. </li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of and commitment to Beacon Health System's values of excellence, innovation, respect, and efficiency. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Normal clinic environment. </li><li>Travel among multiple sites. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position. </li></ul>
