<p>Job Description:</p> <p>East Haven Board of Education</p> <p>Technology- Automotive Teacher</p> <p>East Haven High School</p> <p>SALARY RANGE: As stipulated in the EHEA/Board Agreement</p> <p>APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 16, 2026</p> <p>Job Title: Technology-Automotive Education Teacher</p> <p>Reports To: Principal</p> <p>Location: East Haven High School</p> <p>Level: Grades 9-12</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>The successful candidate must hold current CT certification in Tech Education (047) or Trade and Industrial Occupations (098). </li><li>The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of: </li><li>Contemporary construction tools and materials </li><li>Key elements associated with designing, planning, and constructing a structure on-site </li><li>Basic engine theory, nomenclature and skills necessary to repair automobile engines and to repair and service computerized fuel systems </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Create a classroom environment that supports students' development of automotive or construction technology content knowledge, conceptual understandings, and related skills </li><li>Develop students' understanding of technology concepts and skills </li><li>Integrate technology into instruction </li><li>Demonstrate strong classroom management and organizational skills </li><li>Differentiate instruction for content, process and product </li><li>Demonstrate strong knowledge of content area literacy </li><li>Utilize assessment (summative and formative) to drive instruction </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Implement research-based instructional practices </li><li>Use a variety of assessment tools and analyzing student data to drive instruction </li><li>Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators </li><li>Think flexibly and adapt to the specific instructional needs of students </li><li>Collect data to measure impact on instruction and student achievement </li><li>Develop goals related to teacher practice, student growth and school improvement </li><li>Develop and revise curriculum and various types of assessments that align with district initiatives </li><li>Collaborate with other teachers/disciplines </li></ul> <p>Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.</p> <p>This is a specialized teaching position that falls under the Teachers' Contract.
