The custom nature of their system solutions and the engineered-to-order development cycle for solar projects typically gives Shoals a 12+ month lead time to quote, engineer, produce, and ship each order, so there is no need to stock large amounts of finished goods.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Project Engineer is an administrative professional who reports to the Sr. Manager of Project Engineering. The Project Engineer will organize and track new product development and sustaining engineering projects. The Project Engineer will fulfill their obligations by coordinating meetings, resources, equipment and information. The Project Engineer role is crucial to a company's success by ensuring projects run smoothly by controlling workflow, scheduling assignments, evaluating the course of the project and reporting its status to engineering and other department stakeholders. This role also has the responsibility of assisting with engineering activities such as drawings, purchase request, protypes and development samples.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage projects through the project life cycle, Initiate, plan, execute, monitor and close </li><li>Cross functional team leader </li><li>Develop a project schedule outlining the scope, goals, resources and potential risk </li><li>Allocate resources including personnel, equipment and cost creating project efficiency </li><li>Hold weekly meetings monitoring project progression and assign task </li><li>Communicate clear and consistent directions to team members and update stakeholders </li><li>Lead new & sustaining product development efforts though the phase gate process </li><li>Identify and mitigate project risk that negatively impact the schedule and cost </li><li>Present solutions to roadblocks for the management team to evaluate </li><li>Motivate others on the team by creating goals and schedules that are achievable </li><li>Act as the communications hub between purchasing, marketing, operations, product line management, engineering, shipping and quality </li></ul>
