We have 100+ offices across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia and over 3,400 employees - all ready to provide solutions for environmental needs.</p> <p>Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller will lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements, audit coordination efforts, and support financial reporting for executive leadership and external stakeholders. We care for the well-being of our people and offer:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Mentorship and professional development resources to advance your career</p> </li><li> <p>Direct exposure to our industry's leading experts who are solving the world's toughest environmental challenges</p> </li><li> <p>An entrepreneurial environment where you can learn, thrive, and collaborate with talented colleagues</p> </li><li> <p>Opportunities to engage and contribute to our employee resource groups</p> </li><li> <p>Competitive compensation package: annual salary ranging from $165,000 - $180,000 based on accomplishments, performance, credentials, and geography, with eligibility to participate in the company's annual incentive program (15-20%)</p> </li><li> <p>Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage</p> </li><li> <p>401k with a competitive 4% employer match</p> </li><li> <p>Progressive vacation policies, company holidays, and paid parental leave benefits to ensure work/life balance</p> </li><li> <p>A financial assistance program that supports peers in need, known as the Montrose Foundation</p> </li><li> <p>Access to a student loan planning tool to optimize your student loan payoff plans and compare student loan rates with lenders.</p> </li></ul> <p>A DAY IN THE LIFE</p> <ul> <li> <p>Oversee the monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the maintenance of general ledger accounts and support the integration of acquisitions.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the preparation and review of financial analysis, assist and support Divisional leadership in resolving discrepancies during the close process.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop, implement and maintain global accounting policies and processes, ensuring consistency, scalability compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and adherence across all subsidiaries.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and enhance accounting processes, systems and controls.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead, mentor and develop accounting team by providing mentorship, performance feedback, and conducting regular career development discussions that foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with the VP, Internal Audit to support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with all SOX and internal controls.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the preparation and review of SEC filings including 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal teams on financial reporting and compliance matters.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in strategic projects including system implementations and enhancements, M&A due diligence and integration, as well as value creation and process improvement initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Interface with internal and external auditors and vendors to respond to questions.</p> </li></ul> <p>YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to satisfactorily perform each duty and responsibility listed in the A Day in the Life section above. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university</p> </li><li> <p>Holds an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license</p> </li><li> <p>10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and corporate experience, including multinational and publicly traded organization(s).</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls (SOX), and revenue recognition principles.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven leadership and team management abilities, with experience in leading, developing and building successorship talent to achieve organizational goals. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with Workday Financials (ERP) preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate across teams, clients, and stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to identify issues, investigate and recommend resolutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Highly organized with exceptional time management and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple initiatives while aligning with stakeholder expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (5-10%) as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be dynamic and enthusiastic, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver excellence.</p> </li></ul> <p>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
