With over 92 years of success and continued growth, NASB is seeking new team members eager to grow with us!</p> <p>We are currently looking for a Portfolio Loan Officer to join our Residential Lending Team to originate Non-Conforming QM loans ("Non-QM").</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Portfolio Loan Officer will be responsible for converting Non-QM leads and referrals to closed mortgage loans. A Portfolio Loan Officer specializes in originating loans that do not meet the standard qualifications of an agency or government conforming loan. The right candidate will exhibit a high motivation for success, sound judgment, independent decision making, and ability to follow all guidelines, policies and procedures established by NASB. NASB provides an array of Non-Conforming QM solutions to millions of underserved borrowers that do not meet traditional mortgage guidelines. We offer and originate mortgages in all 50 states. This role is 100% commission based.</p> <p>What you can expect to work on</p> <ul> <li>Originate Non-QM Loans by working closely with borrowers who don't qualify for traditional mortgage loans to understand their financial situations and recommend suitable non-conforming loan products, such as Bank Statement Loans, DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio) Loans, Flex, and 1099 Loans. </li><li>Ability to identify and sell non-conforming lending products to customers that are non-traditional borrowers. </li><li>Call NASB provided Non-QM leads and accurately update lead records in NASB's lead management system in a manner consistent with company guidelines/policies. </li><li>Relationship and referral building: Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, referrals, and personal contacts to build and maintain a strong client base. </li><li>Construct a complete and an accurate 1003 loan application while utilizing multiple technology options. </li><li>Collect all applicable information from the customer before submitting the file to processing/underwriting to ensure file quality expectations are met. </li><li>Work closely with the operations staff to help address and facilitate problem solving on escalated issues and find timely resolutions. </li><li>Provide superior internal and external customer service that exceeds the customer's expectations. </li><li>Complete required periodic training for regulatory compliance in accordance with state and federal laws. </li><li>Maintain a work schedule and required working hours consistent with departmental policy, which will include some evening and weekend hours as needed. </li></ul> <p>What you offer us</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in finance/Accounting or related field preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 3+ years mortgage experience and 3+ years of functional working knowledge of Residential Lending sales and operations experience. </li><li>General knowledge around mortgage product offerings and Non-QM loan products. </li><li>Ability to understand and lead through complex transactions, multiple property types, markets, and varying loan structures and their impact on security of collateral. </li><li>Thorough understanding of all facets of mortgage lending, including knowledge of required mortgage loan documentation and its purpose. </li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal communication. </li><li>Sound judgment and decision-making abilities while working in a high-pressure environment. </li><li>Adaptability and agility to quickly learn new and changing technology advancements. </li><li>Effective business communication skills (both oral and written). </li><li>Excellent time management, detail oriented and organizational skills. </li><li>Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. </li><li>Demonstrate a positive attitude focused on success and a strong team culture. </li></ul> <p>What we offer you</p> <p>NASB offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits packages, including:</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive health insurance options including medical, dental, and vision coverage. </li><li>401(k) retirement plan with immediate employer match. </li><li>Exclusive mortgage and banking benefits. </li><li>Employee referral bonuses </li><li>Internal training programs to help reach your career goals. </li><li>This position will be based out of our headquarters in KCMO, with flexibility for remote work one to two days per week. </li></ul> <p>If you have any questions, please contact jobs@nasb.com.</p> <p>Note: This job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position.
