<p>Position Title: Digital Accessible Document Specialist</p> <p>Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)</p> <p>Clearance Requirements: None</p> <p>Position Status: Contract (12+ months, likely extension)</p> <p>Pay Rate: $50-60/HR ON W2</p> <p>Position Description:</p> <p>We are seeking a Digital Accessible Document Specialist to support a large public-sector accessibility initiative in Philadelphia, PA. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about digital accessibility, ADA compliance, and inclusive design.</p> <p>In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring that digital documents-including PDFs, forms, reports, and Microsoft Office files-are fully accessible and compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, PDF/UA, and ADA Title II standards.</p> <p>You will work closely with cross-functional teams including accessibility leadership and digital services to remediate documents, establish standards, and drive enterprise-wide accessibility compliance. This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in PDF tagging, assistive technologies, and accessibility validation tools.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Remediate and validate digital documents (PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and forms) to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and PDF/UA standards </li><li>Perform PDF accessibility remediation, including tagging, reading order correction, form field accessibility, and semantic structuring </li><li>Utilize tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, CommonLook, and PAC (PDF Accessibility Checker) for testing and validation </li><li>Develop and enhance accessible document templates, style guides, and remediation workflows </li><li>Establish and maintain document accessibility best practices and QA checklists </li><li>Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure ongoing compliance across departmental outputs </li><li>Track remediation progress, manage document inventories, and report accessibility metrics and KPIs </li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders to promote accessible document creation and governance standards </li><li>Provide guidance and training to teams on accessible content authoring and compliance requirements </li></ul> <p>Required Skills / Education:</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in digital document accessibility remediation </li><li>Expert proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro (tags panel, reading order, accessibility checker) </li><li>Hands-on experience with CommonLook PDF Validator, PAC 3, or similar accessibility tools </li><li>Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, ADA Title II, and PDF/UA (ISO 14289) </li><li>Experience creating accessible templates and structured documents in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) </li><li>Deep understanding of PDF tagging, document structure, and semantic accessibility </li><li>Experience testing with screen readers and understanding assistive technology behavior </li><li>Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting government or public sector accessibility initiatives </li><li>Familiarity with assistive technologies such as JAWS or NVDA </li><li>Certifications such as DHS Trusted Tester or IAAP ADS (Accessible Document Specialist) </li><li>Experience with document management systems and large-scale remediation workflows </li><li>Knowledge of accessible forms development and automation tools </li></ul> <p>Shape Your Career with Seneca Resources</p> <p>At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm-we are a trusted career partner.
