<p>Title: Research Assistant-Geriatrics</p> <p>Location: White Plains</p> <p>Org Unit: Institute of Geriatric Psychiatry</p> <p>Work Days:</p> <p>Weekly Hours: 35.00</p> <p>Exemption Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Salary Range: $22.11 - $25.99</p> <ul> <li>As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices </li></ul> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under general supervision, assists in performance of NIH and foundation funded research studies in treatment of mood disorders in middle aged and older adults.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Screens and recruits potential study subjects on-site and within the community. </li><li>Performs on-site structured clinical assessments to assist in determination of patient diagnosis. </li><li>Administers research battery of measures on depression severity, suicidal ideation, cognitive functioning, medical comorbidity, physical functioning, social support, etc. </li><li>Participates in in-patient unit rounds to recruit subjects and conducts research assessments on in-patient units. </li><li>Administers EEG and computerized tasks to participants. </li><li>Develops and prepares data collection sheets according to protocol requirements. </li><li>Reviews data for accuracy, maintains records of study data and assists in data entry. </li><li>Tracks patients over time for follow-up assessments. </li><li>Attends team meetings to gather and present information. </li><li>Assists in preparation of research documentation including IRB protocols. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <p>Bachelors degree in psychology or related discipline preferred.</p> <p>Prior research experience a plus.</p> <p>Prior experience administering psychological instruments helpful.</p> <p>Prior experience with clinical populations desired.</p> <p>Prior experience in administering EEGs helpful.</p> <p>Familiarity with software including MS Word, Access, PowerPoint, Endnote, and Medline, PsychInfo, and other library resources a plus.</p> <p>EEG certification or CPR certification is not required.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Superior interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <p>Working Conditions/Physical Demands</p> <p>Position is based in White Plains, NY and requires some travel to the Manhattan site and to Montefiore in the Bronx.</p> <p>Cornell welcomes students, faculty, and staff with diverse backgrounds from across the globe to pursue world-class education and career opportunities, to further the founding principle of "any person, any study."
