The ideal candidate will have a strong background in state and local tax compliance, planning, and consulting. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base and to contribute to the growth and success of our Grand Rapids, Michigan-based SALT practice.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the firms business development efforts by identifying new leads and participating in industry networking events. </li><li>Develop and maintain strong client relationships, proactively managing communication. throughout the engagement and identifying future business opportunities. </li><li>Collaborate with other departments and offices to ensure comprehensive client service </li><li>Develop and mentor staff to assist them in their career development and reaching their career goals. </li><li>Review schedules, calculations, work papers, reports, research, and other work products. </li><li>Maintain timely and accurate communication with team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines and deliverables. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in State and Local Tax. </li><li>Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required. </li><li>CPA or equivalent designation. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations. </li><li>Strong research and analytical skills. </li><li>High degree of proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills including ability to interact with clients and attorneys. </li><li>Creative problem-solving skills and an ability to work well with teams. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within strict timelines. </li><li>Located within commuting distance of office. </li></ul> <p>Doeren Mayhew is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
