<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Sr. Manager, Driver Training & Compliance is responsible for increasing attendance, developing curriculum, and overseeing driving schools across the Estes network to grow the driver pipeline. This position will be accountable for collaborating with key stakeholders to determine the appropriate class size, school locations, number of trainees and ensuring that commitments are met. The Sr. Manager will monitor and audit driving schools to ensure compliance with FMCSA and Estes Safety regulations and procedures in addition to fulfilling other Safety related accountabilities. This position will also be responsible for vetting approved outside driving schools that Estes Express Lines might use to recruit graduates for driving and/or apprentice positions. This position reports to the VP, Safety & Risk Management.</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver strategies related to Estes driving schools and curriculums (up to date with FMCSA and Estes Safety requirements), frequency/scheduling, developing a student pipeline, tracking attendance, registration across the Estes network, external driving school selection approvals, etc. </li><li>Implement, analyze, monitor and audit trainers to ensure goals are met and standardization of training practices are followed. This position will ensure compliance with all FMCSA entry level driver training requirements. </li><li>Work with RSM's to identify, vet and develop partnerships with external driving schools to increase driver pipeline. Notify/collaborate with recruitment management on external driving school additions and/or approved terminals where external DDT's or Apprentices can be posted. </li><li>Develop and implement processes and procedures related to growing our driver workforce and provide research, analyses and reporting on continuous improvements. Share with key stakeholders as appropriate. </li><li>Coordinate/develop training for corporate safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA, FMSCA, HazMat and EPA regulations. Collaborate with RVPs and DOMs to ensure compliance with all company safety policies/procedures. </li><li>Monitor equipment used in the driving schools and work with Operations and Fleet Services to ensure that equipment is in good working order. </li><li>Conduct accident, workers' comp and light-duty assignment investigations, audit DVIR, employee files and hazmat bills and review accidents and citations and retrain employees when necessary. </li><li>This position will serve as a mentoring/coaching position for Regional Safety Managers. </li><li>Regular attendance is required. </li><li>This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances. Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>3 years of LTL experience required. </li><li>5 years of supervisor, dock operations, and tractor trailer experience preferred. </li><li>5 to 7 years of leadership experience preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of FMCSA, OSHA and safety regulations required. </li><li>Experienced and proficient in Microsoft office and familiarity and knowledge of AS400 LTL functions required. </li><li>Self-directed with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication (verbal, listening and written) skills required. </li><li>Strong work ethic with flexibility in work schedule required. </li><li>Ability to travel based on business needs required. </li><li>Strong influencing skills at senior levels to influence acceptance of new solutions or new procedures required. </li><li>Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job. </li><li>Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct </li><li>Must be able to interact well with others </li><li>Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting </li><li>Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities </li><li>Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines </li><li>Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check </li><li>Must be authorized to work in the United States </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
