<p>Uxbridge High School is seeking an Assistant Football Coach for the Fall 2026 season. All internal candidates should apply by May 10, 2026.</p> <p>Uxbridge High School is seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Football Coach to support the head coach in all aspects of the football program. The ideal candidate is passionate about student-athlete development, teamwork, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.</p> <p>The Assistant Coach will foster athletic skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character in alignment with school and district value. This position requires a person to utilize knowledge of the game, the ability of participants, and such strategy and techniques as needed to develop a competitive team. An Assistant Football Coach strives to develop young players by teaching the game, teaching proper skills and creating excitement within the sport. This position involves light to medium physical activity on a regular basis.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and game strategies Support player development, including skill-building and conditioning Teach proper football techniques with an emphasis on player safety, injury prevention, and correct fundamentals Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team events Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and academic accountability Assist with game-day operations (equipment, setup, communication, etc.) Maintain positive communication with players, parents, and school staff Ensures the physical well being of all participants by enforcing safety rules and procedures and universal precautions. Ensure proper supervision of student-athletes during games and travel. Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, coaching staff, and administration Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic association policies</p> <p>Qualifications: Previous football coaching or playing experience (high school, collegiate, or higher preferred). Strong knowledge of football fundamentals and strategy. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to mentor and motivate high school student-athletes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to season start). Successful completion of background check as required by district (Fingerprinting, CORI/SORI) Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the season</p> <p>Desired Characteristics (list this under Additional Requirements in School Spring) Enthusiastic and dependable Patient and supportive with developing athletes Knowledgeable about age-appropriate training techniques Strong role model for student-athletes Passion and energy to promote Educational Athletics</p> <p>This is a stipend position. Practices will be anytime from 4-9pm. Varsity games are typically on Friday nights however there may be a Saturday afternoon game. JV games are typically on Saturday's at 10am. Will have a Sunday game if Varsity plays on Saturday. Coaches are expected to ride the bus to and from away contests.</p> <p>Please provide a letter of interest and resume.</p>
