<p>To support the day to day administrative, logistical, and operational functions of the football program. This role works closely with the Director of Football Operations, coaching staff, and athletics administration for a smooth execution of team activities, events, and ensure compliance with University, Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) regulations.</p> <p>Description of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Supports the day to day administrative, logistical and operational functions of the UTRGV football program. </li><li>Assists in planning and coordinating all team travel logistics, including transportation, lodging, itineraries, and meal arrangements from ordering, pick up, to on-site setup. </li><li>Coordinates the daily scheduling of practices, meetings, and team activities. </li><li>Keeps football coaches, team and office staff informed of any new or recent changes to meetings, practice schedules, or department activities. </li><li>Plans, organizes, and coordinates all logistics for prospective student-athlete visits, including travel, lodging, and itineraries. </li><li>Work closely with the student athlete academic advisor and compliance services in an administrative capacity to ensure player eligibility by monitoring academic progress and adherence to NCAA eligibility standards, as well as University admissions processes, and student-athlete onboarding </li><li>Assists with the coordination of official/unofficial visit events and organizes pre-game, game-day, and post-game operations. </li><li>Serves as a liaison for coaches' families, high school coaches, and special guests as needed. </li><li>Monitors compliance with regards to all NCAA, conference, and university policies. </li><li>Assists with operational budgets, processing purchase orders, and preparing expense reporting. </li><li>Coordinates community engagement opportunities for student-athletes. </li><li>Assists with player development programs, team-building events, and life-skills initiatives. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Supervision Received</p> <p>General supervision from assigned supervisor.</p> <p>Supervision Given</p> <p>Direct supervision of assigned staff.</p> <p>Required Education</p> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in sports administration, sports management, or other related field.</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <p>Master's degree from an accredited university in sports administration, sports management, or other related field.</p> <p>Licenses/Certifications</p> <p>As condition of employment this position requires the applicant to be authorized to operate a University-Owned Vehicle for Official University Business. Per University of Texas System Policy 157, applicants will be subject to a motor vehicle record check for their most recent thirty-six (36) month history. Out of State Drivers are required to submit a 36-month history MVR from their prior State of residence(s).</p> <p>Required Experience</p> <p>Two (2) years of related experience in collegiate level/or professional level athletic operations, coaching or administrative experience.</p> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <p>Experience in a Division I football program.</p> <p>Equipment</p> <p>Use of standard office equipment.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Some travel and weekend work may be required. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.</p> <p>Other</p> <p>Position requires high ethical standards and incumbent must exhibit a strict adherence to NCAA, university and departmental rules and regulations as well as a solid commitment to academic integrity, student-athlete welfare, and any applicable NCAA standards. Understand that violation(s) of NCAA rules could result in sanctions being placed against the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the University. Possess excellent organizational skills, be self-driven and have great attention to detail. Must be able to perform under deadlines and handle a wide variety of projects simultaneously.
