OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Apprentice Machinist is responsible for learning to set up and operate specialized equipment used to fabricate parts and refurbish a variety of precision tooling components. Apprentice machinists are responsible for applying machine shop theory and procedures along with maintaining production and quality documentation. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a drive for machining knowledge and a solid ability to multitask.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Promote Safety as the Number 1 priority of all employees. </li><li>Learn the safe operation of metal working machinery such as lathes, mills & grinders. </li><li>Set up and perform tool changes, inspect parts & quality assurance. </li><li>Support the demand for experimental tooling, parts, and fixturing as required. </li><li>Service progressive stamping dies. </li><li>Create, load, and edit CNC programs. </li><li>Accurately maintain raw materials inventory. </li><li>Resolve machining or assembly problems as necessary. </li><li>Inspect and record critical dimensions of components per requirements. </li><li>Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required. </li><li>Document tool room processes and participate in LEAN initiatives. </li><li>Learn to create accurate, finished parts from drawings, specifications or samples. </li><li>Keep the work area and equipment safe, clean, and organized. </li><li>Perform other tasks as necessary. </li></ul>
