Innovation.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Description: Lab Nursery School Early Childhood Educator</p> <p>The Lab Nursery School Early Childhood Educator is responsible to the Program Chairperson of the Early Childhood Program.</p> <p>Job responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Modeling/demonstrating curriculum, teaching and limit setting techniques that are consistent with the program's philosophy and the National Association for the Education of Young Children's stated standards for developmentally appropriate practice through continuous hands-on involvement with children and students during the Nursery School session;</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrating a deep understanding of play-based curriculum and its role in early childhood education</p> </li><li> <p>Providing guidance and information to practicum participants during pre- and post-sessions through group discussions and individual conferences, while supporting their gradual assumption of responsibility for the set-up and clean-up of the learning environment;</p> </li><li> <p>Discussing and scheduling individual practicum participant learning experiences, head teaching days, observations, etc.;</p> </li><li> <p>Maintaining open lines of communication with DCC Field Supervisors of practicum participants in their classes;</p> </li><li> <p>Conducting individual evaluation conferences with practicum participants (frequency depends upon course requirements) and completing written evaluations of practicum participants as required; reviewing, assessing and grading ECH 206 student work.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducting weekly group planning seminar;</p> </li><li> <p>Keeping records of practicum participants' ongoing performance in meeting requirements of courses;</p> </li><li> <p>Planning for and preparation of the physical environment and activities for daily nursery school programming;</p> </li><li> <p>Keeping observation/assessment records on each child, preparing for and conducting conferences with parents</p> </li><li> <p>Planning and conducting one group parent meeting per semester in conjunction with the other Lab Nursery School Early Childhood Educator. ECH 206 practicum participants will attend and participate in the planning and execution of the meeting;</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing written evaluations of children's progress;</p> </li><li> <p>Preparing and participating in parent-teacher conferences twice per academic year (December and May)</p> </li><li> <p>Assuming responsibility for miscellaneous administrative and program responsibilities such as:</p> </li><li> <p>Maintenance concerns, purchasing of supplies, grocery shopping, etc.;</p> </li><li> <p>Attendance at DCC Early Childhood Advisory Committee meetings (spring)</p> </li><li> <p>Intake procedures for the Nursery School</p> </li><li> <p>Planning and coordination with the other Lab Nursery School Early Childhood Educator</p> </li><li> <p>Early Childhood Program Staff Meetings (scheduled monthly)</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Required: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or comparable field</p> <p>Preferred: Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or comparable field (degree may be in progress),</p> <p>New York State Initial or Professional Certification (Birth- Grade 2)</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Required: A minimum of 3 years' experience teaching in an early childhood setting,</p> <p>Related experience working in a supervisory role</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>The position of Lab Nursery is a full-time permanent position with an expected start date of 9/1/25.</p> <p>CLASSIFICATION / SALARY</p> <p>Classification: Administration / DUE</p> <p>Salary: $63,991-$72,690</p> <p>The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site.</p> <p>Flexible hours may be necessary.</p> <p>Some travel will be necessary.</p> <p>All applicants are subject to a background check to include criminal, employment, and education.</p> <p>Dutchess Community College is an AA/EOE employer.
