Posting Number 2016174T Department Summary</p> <p>The Senior Director will lead our sustainability and energy management programs-developing strategy, setting goals and metrics, and ensuring regulatory compliance-while overseeing the capital improvement planning & deferred maintenance team to plan, budget and deliver infrastructure initiatives that support our operational objectives.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>Develops the most appropriate method and sequence of construction operations for a particular project. Plans and coordinates campus-wide use of space and physical facilities. Maintains current floor plans and data on campus facilities. Responsibilities include programmatic administration, coordination and management of projects, budgetary oversight, facilities management, and leadership of programs and services. Functions may include specialized architectural, engineering, site, and construction services; energy engineering; project scheduling, estimating, and management; and specialized research-related engineering.</p> <p>Level Summary</p> <p>Oversees the strategic planning and execution of diverse activities within a larger functional area of the institution. Leads and directs significant programs through subordinate managers, setting overall strategies and objectives for the area. Contributes to the development of University-wide strategies. Accountable for ensuring that long-term goals are met and communicating the department's alignment with institutional objectives.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>Manages multiple departments or functions. Directly oversees at least 2.0 FTE employees or one or more supervisors. Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, manage performance, discharge, assign duties, reward, and discipline employees.</p> <p>Fiscal Responsibilities</p> <p>Responsible for large-scale budgets and strategic fiscal management for multiple work units or large academic unit.</p> <p>Problem Solving</p> <p>Handles significant organizational problems, often with long-term impact.</p> <p>Independence of Action</p> <p>Operates with significant autonomy, drives company-wide initiatives.</p> <p>Communication and Collaboration</p> <p>Influences and collaborates with senior leadership and internal/external stakeholders to drive organizational goals.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>This role balances time in the office with regular site visits to facilities and project sites. Frequent on-site walkthroughs of facilities and project locations require the ability to navigate stairs, ladders, and uneven terrain. Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment or materials up to 25lbs. Extended periods of standing and walking during inspections and team meetings.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Requires a Master's degree in a related field and 10 or more years of related professional experience or a Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years of related professional experience, and 7 or more years of supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Department Architecture, Design and Construction Pay Rate</p> <p>The proposed salary range for this position is $95,101 to $128,385 . The salary negotiated at the time of offer will be commensurate with education and experience while also considering internal equity.
