You will then be able to attach your Resume/CV, as well as all other supporting documentation in the "My Experience" section of your application.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Controller, the Accounting Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support and customer service for all initiatives and activities within the Office of the Controller including those initiated by the Associate Vice President and designated personnel within the Division. The Accounting Coordinator independently performs professional work of higher difficulty using established policies, procedures, precedents, and guidelines.</p> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as the principal assistant to the AVP/Controller and point of contact for the Controller's Office. Oversee day-to-day operations, including expediting and coordinating office support services such as equipment, maintenance, repairs, supplies, correspondence, evaluating new work techniques, recommending solutions and executing policies and procedures. Consult with management regarding issues and concerns.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate the hiring of new staff to ensure they complete all required documentation and requisitions any equipment or services that may be needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain calendars and schedules appointments for supervisors within the department.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor departmental budgets and prepares budget amendments when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Design and updates the Controller's website with current information, documents, policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform data entry for journal vouchers, cash receipts, and cash disbursements as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare annual audit confirmations accurately and timely.</p> </li><li> <p>Process spend authorizations, expense reports, requisitions and supplier invoices.</p> </li><li> <p>Process Gourmet Dining and all assigned invoices to ensure timely payments.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide Accounts Payable with assistance as needed to investigate questionable expenses, approvals, and receipts.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff and departments.</p> </li><li> <p>Consult with the Associate Vice President and Controller regarding any issues and concerns that arise.</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule shredding services and maintain inventory of archived documents stored off-site.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend training courses or workshops to increase professional knowledge and skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Note: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working in an office environment.</p> </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous experience working in an accounting or finance department.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the principles and techniques essential to performance of the specific responsibilities assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of college policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to monitor fiscal affairs and provide information for budget inclusion.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret, and apply established law, regulations, procedures, precedents, and guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to organize assigned work, analyze problems, and develop appropriate work methods.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop materials for publication.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to develop and conduct training, workshops, and/or seminars for the campus community.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish liaison and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff and organizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to prepare clear, technically sound, accurate, and informative reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to represent the college at meetings, conferences, and seminars.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to prepare correspondence.</p> </li><li> <p>NOTE: This is a Civil Service position. As required by the State of New Jersey, in order to be certified to the position and attain permanent status in title, candidates are required to successfully serve a 4-Month Working Test Period.</p> </li></ul> <p>SALARY RANGE: P21: $62,164.36 - $88,099.21 *NOTE: Salaries for internal candidates are determined by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission's formula.
