<p>The Supervisory Medical Supply Technician (MST) serves as a first-level supervisor, responsible for overseeing a team of MSTs and managing their work. This role includes administrative duties such as planning and directing tasks, monitoring attendance and leave, and approving sick leave, annual leave, and vacation schedules. Informs higher level management of anticipated vacancies or increases in workload.</p> <ul> <li>The Supervisory Medical Supply Technician (MST) maintains necessary logs and reports for the daily flow of sterile and medical supplies to using areas of the VAPAHCS throughout the day and evening tours of duty. </li><li>Makes changes in work flow to meet the changing demands to improve the services required by the units to support medical, surgical, and other specialized patient care programs. </li><li>Plans work schedules and sequences of operations on a weekly projected, or longer, basis to assure an even flow and distribution of work, the expeditious handling of priority cases, and meeting schedules and deadlines. </li><li>Plans work schedules and sequences of operations on a weekly projected, or longer, basis to assure an even flow and distribution of work, the expeditious handling of priority cases, and meeting of schedules and deadlines. </li><li>Coordinates with representatives of other units/ services concerning matters of work accomplished, priorities and procedures. Plans for sufficient amount of supplies. Makes recommendations concerning the maintenance or replacement of equipment and maintenance and safety of facilities. Prepares workload and production reports as necessary and reports on highlights of operations and problems in meeting work schedules to higher level supervisors. </li><li>Makes recommendations concerning employee performance, i.e., formal appraisals and performance standards. Provides first line counseling and assistance for minor personnel problems, i.e., disciplinary actions consistent with the problems and facts such as written warnings, verbal counseling, and admonishments. </li><li>Incumbent has the authority to determine how the workload should be assigned, processed, and reviewed to achieve an acceptable quality level. </li><li>Incumbent has authority to carry out established personnel functions and practices, and keep employees informed about important aspects of personnel management and programs. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM</p> <p>Compressed/Flexible:Not Available</p> <p>Telework: Not Available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Functional Statement #:640-08796F</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorized.</p>
