<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Adjunct or part time teaching assignments include in person day courses for general population as well as for Massasoit's Early College Program and include opportunities at local high schools.</p> <p>Professors work collaboratively to create a learner centered environment focused on student learning and success. Teaching approaches are expected to include active and collaborative techniques and real-world applications related to composition and literature.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver engaging curriculums that cover all aspects of sports broadcasting, including production, on-air talent, reporting, writing, and promotion </li><li>Provide hands-on training in radio and television production techniques, including equipment operation, camera work, audio engineering, and video editing </li><li>Coach and mentor students in developing their on-air presence and communication skills, specializing in roles like play-by-play announcer, color analyst, sideline reporter, and studio show host/reporter/analyst </li><li>Instruct students in scriptwriting, interview techniques, research methods, and sports journalism best practices </li><li>Supervise and guide students in producing live sports broadcasts and pre-recorded sports programs </li><li>Stay current with industry trends and technologies in sports broadcasting and integrate them into the curriculum </li><li>Advise students on internships, career opportunities, and professional development </li><li>Provide consistent feedback </li><li>Evaluate achievement </li><li>Assign grades </li><li>Maintain student records of attendance, participation, grades, etc. </li><li>Work collaboratively with divisional staff </li><li>Monitor email communications from students and the college, and respond in a timely manner. </li></ul> <p>Additional Opportunities:</p> <p>Participate in instructional development and orientation, department, early college, and college wide activities.</p> <p>THIS POOL IS VALID THROUGH JUNE 30, 2025. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Communication, Journalism, Broadcasting, or a related field </li><li>Minimum of three years of professional experience in sports broadcasting, preferably in multiple roles (e.g., production, on-air talent, reporting) </li><li>Demonstrated teaching experience at the college level is preferred </li><li>Strong knowledge of current industry trends and technologies in sports broadcasting </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment </li><li>Passion for sports and a commitment to providing students with an exceptional educational experience </li><li>Proficiency in video editing software and audio engineering tools </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with and understanding of the community college environment </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively </li><li>Capable of maintaining academic standards with empathy and honesty </li><li>Knowledge of and experience using effective pedagogical strategies </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Position Status: MCCC/MTA position</p> <p>Semester: Academic Year Fall 2024-Spring 2025</p> <p>Salary: $1,397.00 per credit, consistent with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement. *If hired for the position mid-semester, the salary will be pro-rated based on the number of weeks left in the semester.</p> <p>Worksite: Assignments may include all Massasoit sites.</p> <p>Deadline to Apply: June 30, 2025</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>A cover letter, resume and a list of three professional references are required, please apply online.</p> <p>Please Note: Faxed, emailed, or mailed in resumes and/or materials will NOT be accepted.
