<p>Department: Courts</p> <p>Sub-Department: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)</p> <p>Pay Grade: 103</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-exempt</p> <p>Employment Status: Part Time</p> <p>Reports to: CASA Program Director</p> <p>Supervises: N/A</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>To assist the CASA Program Director in the daily administration of the CASA Program.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Attend, monitor and document all non-CASA-assigned Dependency hearings. </li><li>Display good time management to prepare for court in advance; complete hearing notes and organize court documents in a timely manner. </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to listen and absorb information during the hearings extended periods of time. </li><li>Process outcomes of the Dependency hearings with CASA staff. </li><li>When possible, participate in at least one pre-service training class for each training round to meet and get to know prospective CASA volunteers for matching purposes. </li><li>Provide input to CASA staff to best match CASA volunteers with Dependent children most in need of an advocate. </li><li>Maintain regular contact with the CASA Office to keep staff updated with the status of the daily hearings. </li><li>Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other CASA-related events when possible. </li><li>Within the parameters of the part-time hours, observe and record team meetings and Permanency Roundtable meetings as needed. </li><li>Assist with the process of preparing a case file for the newly assigned CASA once they have been matched with a child/youth. </li><li>Foster positive working relationship with personnel in the Courts, Children and Youth, attorneys, other agencies involved with child welfare, and especially with CASA staff which sees this position as an integral part of the team. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree plus clerical and computer training plus 2-4 years of work experience in comparable field; or equivalent combination of experience and education; any prior training related to CASA, the child welfare system or the court system preferred. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li>2-4 years in an office environment with clerical and computer experience; any prior experience related to CASA, the child welfare system, the court system or county government preferred. </li></ul>
