<p>Various Shifts Available</p> <p>As a member of the Baptist Hospital Transport Team, The EMT is responsible for operation of ambulances and serves as the primary driver/operator for transport. The position assists in evaluating patient status/needs and determining priority of transport request. The position performs intra-system and inter-facility transports with Paramedic or Registered Nurses/Respiratory Therapists oversight, based on priority triage. The position assesses patients and implementation of plan of care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and under the direction of the transport team physician. The EMT performs daily maintenance of the ambulance; including all ALS/BLS equipment stored in ambulance, maintaining logs, and restocking supplies.</p> <p>What you will do</p> <ul> <li>Assists the Paramedic and EMS team in the delivery of safe patient care. </li><li>Assists in the coordination of safe patient care between departments. </li><li>Provides basic life support, emergency care, and transportation to the sick and/or injured as needed. </li><li>Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate. </li><li>Works as a team member, able to effectively communicate with other health care members. Provides a complete verbal and written document for hand off of care and patient safety. </li><li>Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions. </li><li>Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure the safety of transport team members, patients, and the public. </li><li>Monitors and anticipates needs for additional equipment and appropriately secures tools to meet patient care demands during transport. </li><li>Operates emergency vehicles safely in a variety of weather and emergent conditions in accordance to established safety standards. Effectively communicates delays and updates to dispatch. Immediately reports any damage or vehicle issues to the supervisor. </li><li>Maintains equipment between patient transports. Maintains the unit in a constant state of readiness. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education</p> <ul> <li>Technical Diploma/Certificate Emergency Medical Technician Required </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Emergency Medical Technician Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required </li><li>BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required </li><li>Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) Minimum 16 hour course Upon Hire Required </li><li>Non-violent crisis intervention (CPI) within 90 Days Required </li></ul>
