Be part of a team that values innovation, impact, and shared success</p> <p>Shippensburg University offers outstanding benefits to eligible employees!</p> <ul> <li> <p>Effective first day of employment: low-cost medical insurance plus free dental, vision, hearing, and prescription coverage.</p> </li><li> <p>Choose from two generous retirement plans:</p> </li><li> <p>Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP):5% employee contribution, 9.29% employer contribution, Immediate vesting</p> </li><li> <p>State Employees' Retirement System (SERS): 8.25% employee contribution, 2.25% employer contribution + pension calculation, 10-year vesting requirement</p> </li><li> <p>100% tuition waivers for you and your eligible dependents.</p> </li><li> <p>Generous paid time off, employer-paid life insurance, and so much more!</p> </li></ul> <p>See full details in link below (for PEBTF employees)</p> <p>Full Benefits Summary (PDF)</p> <p>Area Coordinator (Residence Life)</p> <p>A 12-month live-in professional responsible for supporting a 2000+ student housing system by fostering safe, inclusive, and academically supportive residential communities.</p> <p>Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Supervise 1-2 Graduate Hall Directors and 7-9 Resident Assistants. </li><li>Provide ongoing support, feedback, and development for staff. </li><li>Assist with staff training, recruitment, selection, and evaluation. </li><li>Communicate staffing concerns to leadership. </li></ul> <p>Community Development</p> <ul> <li>Implement engagement initiatives to build connected learning communities. </li><li>Maintain visibility and build relationships with residents. </li><li>Advise Hall Council and support student leadership. </li><li>Provide crisis response, referrals, and parent communication. </li><li>Serve as a conduct hearing officer and manage community concerns. </li><li>Oversee programming budgets and track expenses. </li></ul> <p>Administration</p> <ul> <li>Manage occupancy, records, and daily operations of assigned area. </li><li>Coordinate check-in/out, break openings/closings, and facilities requests. </li><li>Oversee supplies, front desk staffing, and payroll coordination. </li><li>Maintain regular office hours and availability. </li></ul> <p>Departmental Support</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to departmental goals, policies, and committees. </li><li>Participate in training, meetings, and on-call rotation. </li><li>Support summer housing and conference operations. </li><li>Collaborate with campus partners and perform additional duties as needed. </li></ul> <p>Employment Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Live on campus in provided housing (family may reside if applicable). </li><li>Two-year term with potential renewal up to four years, based on performance. </li></ul> <p>A full job description will be provided at the time of the scheduled interview</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. </li><li>At least 2 years' work experience in the college/university housing setting. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field. </li><li>2+ years of supervision experience in the college/university housing setting. </li></ul> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Open Date 04/01/2026 Close Date 04/29/2026 Open Until Filled No Special Instructions Summary</p> <p>For full consideration all candidates should apply online at https://jobs.ship.edu with acceptance of materials until April 29, 2026.
