This team develops software that supports fixed income cash and derivative trading businesses, enabling traders, strategists, and risk managers to monitor daily risk, profit and loss, and perform scenario calculations. The role involves working on advanced Scala-based and Java-based systems, collaborating with global teams, and contributing to projects such as risk models, market intelligence tools, and distributed calculation infrastructure.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain bond position management and risk models, integrating them with other systems to support new initiatives. </li><li>Work on calculation infrastructure, including distribution, caching, and workflow automation. </li><li>Develop and enhance GUI tools for users to view and manage relevant data. </li><li>Gain proficiency in Scala within a short period, if not already proficient. </li><li>Learn about financial products and apply this knowledge to real-time systems. </li><li>Utilize open-source technologies such as Kafka and Zookeeper, as well as proprietary technologies. </li><li>Troubleshoot production issues and perform performance profiling and tuning. </li><li>Collaborate with global teams and interact directly with the trading desk to support their functions. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Strong proficiency in Scala or exceptional Java development skills. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and experience in performance tuning. </li><li>Ability to navigate large and complex codebases. </li><li>Knowledge of data structures, design patterns, multithreaded programming, and distributed computing. </li><li>Experience with continuous integration. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Financial knowledge, especially in bonds. </li></ul> <p>Education Level:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree Required </li></ul> <p>Job Level:</p> <ul> <li>Consultant (5+ years of experience) </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes:</p> <ul> <li>Hybrid work model: 3 days a week onsite. </li><li>Potential for conversion to a permanent role. </li></ul> <p>About PTR Global: PTR Global is a leading provider of information technology and workforce solutions.
