<p>ENTRY SALARY: $19.82/HR</p> <p>The City of Clearwater has a need for temporary employees to supplement our permanent workforce. These temporary employees are invaluable in meeting the mission of the agency.</p> <ul> <li>Average weekly hours cannot be determined at date of hire. </li><li>Hours may vary from week to week and are anticipated to be 28 hours per week or less. </li><li>NOTE: Will be considered full-time and eligible for medical coverage if hours average 30 hours per week or more over a 12-month measurement period (or 130 hours per month). </li></ul> <p>An employee in this class is expected to perform basic assigned duties and work assignments under close supervision. There is limited opportunity for independent judgment and no specialized knowledge is required. This classification usually supports other staff in the performance of their duties. Persons may be appointed to these positions by the Department Directors with the concurrence of the Director of Human Resources and without the requirement to establish and hire from an eligible roster.</p> <ul> <li>Provides assistance to others in manual labor, staff or line work relating to the requirements of the department. </li><li>Performs routine clerical and filing duties. </li><li>Directs customers to appropriate service areas. </li><li>Types basic correspondence, complete simple forms and/or reports from copy or rough drafts. </li><li>Makes simple arithmetic calculations and computes data from requisitions, statistical reports, time reports, service orders or other records. </li><li>Provides information, assistance, and services to the general public, employees, and others in person, by telephone, or by other forms of communication. </li><li>Operates standard office machines and may do typing or data entry work. </li><li>Performs light to medium physical work moving or stocking materials and supplies or other light manual functions. </li><li>Relieves or fill in for other employees as needed. </li><li>Performs related work as assigned or required. </li></ul> <p>General Support</p> <ul> <li>Provides assistance in retrieving and delivering supplies, materials, and vehicles to the appropriate location. </li><li>Accompanies contractors in city facilities for building and maintenance. </li><li>Provides unskilled labor for fleet and/or B&M operations. </li></ul> <p>A valid State driver's license is required.</p> <p> </p> <p>High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, or G.E.D. Certificate. Some experience in the operation of a personal computer or support work. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.Knowledge of - </p> <ul> <li>General office policies practices; computers and general office equipment </li><li>Knowledge of operational and facility security requirements </li><li>Business English, spelling, and arithmetic </li><li>Physical inventories, accounting, and record keeping </li></ul> <p> </p> <p>Skill in - </p> <ul> <li>Typing or other keyboarding at a reasonable rate of speed </li><li>Ability to perform the work as outlined by the assigned departmental manager or designee </li><li>Ability to operate a personal computer and related software including word processing and electronic mail </li><li>Ability to provide accurate and timely information orally and in writing </li><li>Ability to learn assigned tasks, adhere to prescribed routines and to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions </li><li>Ability to understand and carry out basic and written instructions and keep records </li></ul>
