<p>Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor (PT)</p> <p>Salary: $40.00 per hour</p> <p>Location: Utica, NY</p> <p>Mohawk Valley Community College provides accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. We are the community's college, committed to student success through partnerships, transfer and career pathways, and personal enrichment.</p> <p>The Center for Corporate and Community Education (CCED) at MVCC is seeking a part-time, non-credit Instructor to teach the New York State approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course. The Instructor may teach all or part of the lecture and laboratory practice training, and will assist with delivery of the clinical training in the student supervised clinical work experience located in the long-term care setting. This training is 120 hours of lecture and clinical experience. Training locations are dependent on community need and can be located throughout the Mohawk Valley. The Instructor must be willing to teach on-location, if necessary.</p> <p>Topics include: communication and interpersonal skills, universal precautions, infection control, safety, basic nursing skills, personal care skills, mental health, social service needs, care of cognitively impaired residents, basic restorative services, and residents' rights.</p> <p>This is a weekday position with a tentative schedule of 8:00am to 3:00pm. Successful candidate must be able to work up to 29 hours per week.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>New York State Registered Nurse with documentation of at least two years of experience caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill preferable in a nursing home and/or long term care facility </li><li>Demonstrated competency to teach adult learners as documented by at least one of the following: Certification to teach Nurse Aide or Practical Nursing; OR Two (2) years of experience teaching nurse aides in a residential health care facility; OR Three (3) years of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the NYS Commissioner of Education; OR Completion of the NYS approved "Train the Trainer" program </li><li>Experience working with diverse populations, demonstrated knowledge of internet navigation, and effective email and computer skills </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
