<p>Summer Associate - NBN Program Coordinator Night Hoops</p> <p>The goal of Night Hoops is to provide children and teens-particularly those from low-income households-with a safe, supervised environment during evening hours while promoting physical activity, positive decision-making, and constructive engagement with peers and adults. Many participating youth face barriers associated with poverty, including limited access to safe recreational spaces, enrichment opportunities, and consistent adult mentorship. Night Hoops addresses these challenges by offering structured programming that keeps youth engaged during high-risk evening hours. Program activities include court sports, table games, arts and crafts, karaoke, movies, and more. Weekend programming includes motivational speakers and breakout sessions focused on respect, responsibility, confidence, staying in school, and career pathways. These experiences are designed to build social-emotional skills, strengthen school engagement, and increase awareness of future opportunities, all of which contribute to long-term economic stability. Program outcomes will be measured through participation tracking and participant surveys assessing engagement, skill development, and perceived benefits. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.</p> <p>Member Duties : Summer Associates will support daily program operations by supervising youth activities, assisting with coordination and set-up of programming, tracking attendance and participation, and helping maintain a safe and structured environment. Members will engage directly with youth to provide mentorship, model positive behavior, and facilitate reflection activities that reinforce leadership, responsibility, and goal-setting. Through consistent engagement, members will help increase youth participation in constructive activities, strengthen connections to supportive adults, and contribute to improved educational engagement and long-term economic mobility.
