<p>Job Details</p> <p>Job Location: New Rochelle - New Rochelle, NY</p> <p>Position Type: Full Time</p> <p>Education Level: 4 Year Degree</p> <p>Salary Range: $65000.00 - $80000.00 Salary/year</p> <p>Job Shift: Day</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Iona University seeks applicants for the Director of CSTEP on its New Rochelle campus. CSTEP is a New York State Department of Education funded program. The goal of CSTEP is to increase the number of students from under-represented groups who are pursuing professional licensure and careers in mathematics, science, technology and health-related fields (http://www.nysed.gov/postsecondary-services/collegiate-science-and-technology-entry-program-cstep). CSTEP provides academic enrichment and co-curricular experiences to students pursuing STEM and professional programs. The Director will lead and coordinate all CSTEP activities.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Overall administration of the CSTEP program, including budget management, monitoring the program for compliance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) goals and procedures; working cooperatively with the CSTEP Advisory Board, CSTEP Faculty Coordinator, CSTEP Faculty Advisors, and the STEP program. </li><li>Familiarity with NYSED fiscal documents, submitting documents throughout the program year. </li><li>Coordinate academic programming with Iona University Department Chairs and Faculty Advisors. </li><li>Develop, plan, and implement seminars, workshops, and activities for CSTEP pre-health and non-pre-health students. </li><li>Coordinate on-site and off-site internship and research opportunities. Assist students with scholarship. </li><li>Plan CSTEP Mentoring Conference and STEM Career Conference. </li><li>Coordinate CSTEP Statewide Student Conference. </li><li>Coordinate co-curricular activities with various Iona University departments such as Student Life. </li><li>Recruit undergraduate students into the program. </li><li>Assist students in selecting and applying to graduate programs of study in STEM, health, and licensed fields. </li><li>Coordinate the collection and compilation of data for State and University required reports. </li><li>Maintain open communication with NYSED Program Officer. </li><li>Work collaboratively with CSTEP and STEP Directors in the Mid-Hudson Region. </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities (e.g., APACS). </li><li>Serve on Statewide CSTEP and STEP committees. </li><li>Ensure program effectiveness. </li><li>Work collaboratively with various Iona University departments (e.g., Finance) to ensure compliance with New York State regulations. </li><li>Candidate should have experience and knowledge of opportunity programs. </li><li>Candidate will have demonstrated the ability to create, deliver, and assess programming in relation to students' academic, professional, and personal growth. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>A Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)</p> <p>3-5 years of experience as a director or assistant director of a student support program/opportunity program</p> <p>About Iona University/EEO language</p> <p>Founded in 1940, Iona University is a master's-granting private, Catholic, coeducational institution of learning in the tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers.
