<p>Job Description</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>We are seeking a Sr Archaeologist to join our team in Tampa, FL.</p> <p>Your role</p> <ul> <li>Serve as Principal Investigator on transportation, planning, and infrastructure projects: plan and lead fieldwork, including survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring. </li><li>Provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to ensure delivery of high-quality Cultural Resources services to clients, while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality. </li><li>Assist in development of proposals, including preparation of scope and fee documents, to ensure client satisfaction and profitability of projects. </li><li>Evaluate sites for eligibility in the National Register of Historic Places, in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and other relevant environmental laws. </li><li>Assess effects to sites, including working with engineering and planning professionals and the overall project team to avoid or minimize impacts in accordance with Section 106. </li><li>Write technical reports including Cultural Resource Assessment Surveys (CRAS), including creating site forms. </li><li>Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies and tribal governments. </li><li>Assist the larger Cultural Resources group with various desktop-based project and other tasks, as needed. </li><li>Review reports as part of AtkinsRéalis' detailed Quality Assurance/Quality Control program. </li><li>Must be prepared to spend time (up to 20%) in the field and travel to project sites, with some overnight visits required. Projects will generally be in Florida but could be elsewhere throughout the United States, as needed. </li><li>Adhere to AtkinsRéalis safety standards and maintain a culture of safety throughout field teams. </li><li>Mentor junior staff and potentially develop into a managerial role. </li></ul> <p>About you</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field. Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's (SOI) Standards. </li><li>5-10 years of full-time professional archaeology experience, including conducting field surveys and experience with the identification and evaluation of historic and/or precontact period sites. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and carry projects to completion. </li><li>General understanding of the following industries: transportation, infrastructure, state and local governments, and/or regulatory/compliance. </li><li>Intermediate-level ArcGIS experience is required. </li><li>Familiarity with reading transportation engineering design plans is desired. </li><li>Prior Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) experience is highly desired. </li><li>Prior supervisory experience is a plus, but not required. </li><li>Excellent written, technical, and interpersonal skills. A writing sample will be required as part of the application process. </li><li>Position may require use of company vehicle.
