<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Pastry Chef oversees the production of all pastries for an Eataly, including: Italian pasticcini, cakes, desserts, cookies, candies and other dolci. Reports directly to the Executive Chef and reports functionally to the Head of Pastry; manages a pastry team of about 10 employees.</p> <ul> <li>Directs and participates in the production of all pastry items for Eataly's counters and restaurants </li><li>Manages the pastry team: hires; schedules; submits payroll; provides feedback and motivation; trains on Italian pastry production, principles and practices; coaches and counsels; handles terminations </li><li>Verifies all foods prepared meet quality standards in terms of portion size, flavor, texture and consistency </li><li>Produces decorative centerpieces and special orders </li><li>Orders and requisitions all supplies for the pastry shop </li><li>Communicates with the Executive Chef and Pastry Quality Head on new recipes </li><li>Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards </li><li>Performs other duties as required or assigned </li></ul> <p>Hourly rate: $18.00- $22.00</p>
