<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The School of Applied Engineering Technology is pleased to invite applications for a full-time tenure track faculty appointment in Cybersecurity, Computer Science and Computer Information Systems disciplines. Major responsibilities of this position include college-level teaching of Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and Computer Information Systems lecture and laboratory courses in such content areas as cybersecurity, networking, computer administration concepts, programming, software engineering, computer architecture, and several other areas. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, curriculum development, participation on committees, and collaboration with colleagues to assess student learning outcomes.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be qualified to teach several of the following classes. See Programs: Cybersecurity (A.S.) - SUNY Onondaga Community College; Computer Science (A.S.); Computer Information Systems (A.A.S.)</p> <ul> <li>CFS-140 Computer Forensics & Security </li><li>CFS-232 Cyber Crimes </li><li>CIS-170 Network Fundamentals </li><li>CIS-270 Routing & Switching </li><li>CIS-286 Systems Analysis and Design </li><li>CSC-110 Program Design & Development (Introductory C++) </li><li>CSC-111 Fundamentals of Computing I (Java) </li><li>CSC-112 Fundamentals of Computing II (Java) </li><li>CSC-211 Computer System Organization </li><li>CSC-220 Foundations of Computer Science </li><li>CSC-221 Software Engineering </li><li>CSC-250 Server Administration </li><li>CSC-263 C++ Programming (Advanced C++) </li><li>CSC-280 Python Programming </li><li>CYB-101 Computer Security </li><li>CYB-232 Cybercrime </li><li>CYB-250 Server Administration </li><li>Other technical courses as necessary </li></ul> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Be responsive to student questions and available for student support. </li><li>Use appropriate technology to enhance learning. </li><li>Assess learning outcomes and adapt curriculum to meet learning objectives. </li><li>Demonstrate insight and encouragement in working with diverse student populations, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education. </li><li>Provide appropriate academic advising to students to support timely degree completion. </li><li>Be innovative in the presentation of lectures and hands-on learning activities that achieve learning outcomes. </li><li>Provide timely feedback on students' assignments and exams throughout each semester; and, </li><li>Be accountable to meet the needs of the Department and the College, including timely submission of grades and other required materials. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree from an accredited college, university or foreign equivalency in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Industry recognized professional license or certification; with a minimum of 3 years of full-time employment in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Doctorate in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Background in teaching college level courses. </li><li>Demonstrated connections with local industry. </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) </li><li>Familiar with some or all of the following software programs: </li><li>Programming Languages - Java, C++ and Python </li><li>Networking </li><li>Network Security </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Salary for Assistant Professor level is $59,676. </li><li>Onondaga Community College offers a generous and competitive benefits package including: </li><li>New York State Teacher's Retirement System or Optional Retirement Savings Program (401(a). </li><li>Excellent health, dental, and vision insurance plans (qualifying domestic partner included). </li><li>As a Public Employer, we participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program for qualified borrowers. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <ul> <li>To be considered, please submit a resume, cover letter, copy of licensure and unofficial transcripts at time of application. </li><li>The three (3) references listed on the application must be professional references, one must be from a current or former supervisor.
