In this role, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing and overseeing a variety of maintenance tasks to support the proper function, safety, and appearance of the property. Key duties include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The position may also include supervision of junior maintenance staff. The ideal candidate will help create a comfortable and well-maintained environment for residents while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.</p> <p>Where You'll Work:</p> <p>New Salem Manor is an affordable, HUD-subsidized senior housing community serving adults aged 62 and older in Columbus. Designed for comfort and convenience, it offers thoughtfully appointed studio and one-bedroom apartments. Each unit features a fully equipped kitchen, central heating and cooling, and utilities included-providing ease and peace of mind. The property also includes a welcoming community room for social gatherings and on-site laundry facilities for practical convenience. Nestled in a peaceful residential neighborhood, New Salem Manor is just minutes away from parks, grocery stores, and shopping centers-making daily errands and visits a breeze.</p> <p>What You'll Own:</p> <ul> <li>Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems) to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations. </li><li>Promptly respond to maintenance requests and emergencies, accurately diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using appropriate tools and techniques. </li><li>Maintain the physical condition of resident units, common areas, and grounds-ensuring all areas are clean, well-maintained, in good repair, and ready for move-in in a timely manner. </li><li>Identify and report safety hazards and maintenance needs, taking appropriate corrective action to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff. </li><li>Prepare and maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, repairs, inventory, and vendor communications, support management during inspections or repair projects. </li><li>Manage and track inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, placing orders to ensure availability while controlling costs. </li><li>Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies and be available to travel to other properties when needed (must provide proof of vehicle insurance). </li></ul> <p>How You'll Stand Out:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>2-5 years of experience in residential, or facility maintenance, ideally in senior housing </li><li>Knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical </li><li>Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills </li><li>Able to work independently and communicate clearly with residents and staff </li><li>Comfortable using basic computer or tablet systems for logging tasks and reports </li><li>Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle liability and property damage insurance </li><li>Certifications such as HVAC, OSHA, or trade-specific credentials are a plus </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us:</p> <p>At National Church Residences, we're committed to supporting those who support others.
