<p>The laboratory of Dr. Steven Bensinger, newly appointed Chair of the Department of Immunology and Immune Therapeutics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, is seeking a highly motivated Research Laboratory Technician II. Dr. Bensinger is a world expert in how lipid metabolism influences the immune system, and the incumbent will play a critical role in supporting ongoing research projects in both innate and adaptive immunity.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct research experiments in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols. </li><li>Prepare and organize laboratory reagents, glassware, and equipment. </li><li>Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. </li><li>Keep accurate laboratory records and manage stocks and supply inventories. </li><li>Prepare buffers and common stock reagents. </li><li>Perform non-routine, complex assignments with minimal supervision. </li><li>Compile and analyze data from a variety of research procedures and techniques. </li><li>Maintain the laboratory mouse colony (animal husbandry) and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory safety standards. </li><li>Verify receipt of laboratory supplies and manage ordering. </li><li>Provide general laboratory assistance to ensure smooth research operations. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to groundbreaking research at the intersection of metabolism and immunity within a dynamic and growing department at USC.</p> <p>The hourly rate range for this position is $25.71 - $31.30. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.</p> <p>Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Specialized/technical training, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education</p> <p>Minimum Experience: 2 years</p> <p>Minimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols.
