For Florida residents and other select states (AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, MS, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY) this full-time remote position offers a remote work arrangement</p> <p>Position Highlights:</p> <p>The Supervisor Inpatient Coding is responsible overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Inpatient Coding team. The Supervisor is responsible for development of coding and related policies and procedures. Ensures coding process is completed for inpatient facility patient encounters within the specified timeframes and ensures timely and accurate coding, and reimbursement related to ICD-10-CM</p> <p>and ICD-10-PCS code sets.</p> <p>This position identifies, develops, improves and implements code assignment for compliance with MSDRG and APRDRG, and other regulatory requirements. Monitors and performs performance improvement process for coding productivity and/or coding quality performance. Ensures delivery of coding staff education and training to ensure accurate and thorough coding of hospital inpatient encounters with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS code sets. Informs, educates and coordinates with other Revenue Cycle and Clinical Operations staff regarding coding process for hospital inpatient facility encounters.</p> <p>The Ideal Candidate:</p> <ul> <li>The ideal candidate will be a Certified Coder with supervisory/leadership experience. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise day-to-day operations </li><li>Performance Supervision </li><li>Administrative </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>Query Knowledge </li><li>Departmental Collaboration </li></ul> <p>Credentials and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree and minimum six (6) years' experience in hospital inpatient coding experience with ICD-10 diagnosis, procedure codes and MS-DRG. inclusive of a minimum of two (2) years' as a team/project lead, supervisor, manager or above in a Health Information Management environment. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <p>Associate degree and two (2) additional years of experience as stated above for a total of eight (8) years' experience.</p> <p>Certification:</p> <p>Any "one" of the following certifications is required:</p> <ul> <li>(CPC-H) Cert Professional Coder-Hosp </li><li>(CCS) Certified Coding Specialist </li><li>(CIC) Certified Inpatient Coder </li><li>(RHIT) Reg Health Info Technician </li><li>(RHIA) Reg Health Info Administrator </li><li>*Any certification not listed above but issued by one of the Governing Bodies (American Health Information Mgmt </li></ul> <p>Assoc (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders ) will be reviewed and considered by the business as satisfying this requirement *</p> <p>Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required</p> <ul> <li>Extensive understanding of the effect of data quality on prospective payment, utilization, and </li></ul> <p>reimbursement in a complex inpatient hospital setting.</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Experience with automated patient care and coding systems. </li><li>Competence with MS Office software </li><li>Extensive knowledge of International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical </li></ul> <p>Modification ("ICD-10-CM"), International Classification, Tenth Revision, International</p> <p>Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Procedural Coding System ("ICD-10-PCS"), American</p> <p>Healthcare Association ("AHA") coding clinic guidelines, Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services</p> <p>("CMS") Official coding guidelines</p> <p>Share:</p>
