<p>General Summary: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) records patients' medical histories, performs physical exams, administers diagnostic tests, and creates patient care plans. The NP also administers treatment and observes patients' functioning over time.</p> <p>To be successful as a nurse practitioner, you should be empathic but resolute in your decision-making, and attentive to detail.
